Who Says Sebastian Loeb Challenge Is Easy?

Anyone who thinks the Sebastien Loeb Challenge is easy is bloody mad (pardon my fake British). I barely got by the Toscana stage, and the other two events are brand new to me. Actually, all three courses are new to me, and all three are still off-road courses I struggle with. Let's not go saying that clearing them are as easy as doing Gran Turismo 2 rally courses (excluding the Pikes Peak one in the IA Licenses). Since I am new to these courses, my learning and understanding is much different to try to clear all of them effectively. I am still very poor with these courses. Remember- I am going on three weeks playing Gran Turismo 5.

So from my experience, these challenges are NOT easy. What's next- the Sebastien Vettel X Challenge (that I cleared with Bronze yesterday) is easy? Maybe I just need to practice these other two courses more to get better acquainted with them.

At first for each, I would fail to even make Bronze, but after adjusting my driving style, i'd Gold them the second time. The final one is definitely the hardest, too kme a while just to complete a lap, thankfully, the second time round after that, Gold, new Citroen C4 Rally car :D

Add me to the group where I did the snow track with no problem (got silver) but the last two I'm like 8+ sec slower then bronze and this is with TSC off and no drivers aids..

and im using a wheel

i got gold on all the races, cant remember the settings...BUT one tip that you might find useful is to NOT push too hard, just follow the course at your normal pace and you should be able to breeeeze it like many people!

TC: OFF
SRF: ON
ASM: OFF
Maybe changing the 4wd torque distribution in the RA menu might help.

Exactly what I did. I did it after about three tries.

You just need to know how to off-road properly. If you see your car sideways, drifting, slipping, etc, you're doing it wrong. You never want to spin your car (Except in a certain few corners). Be gentle on the gas pedal and brake. All assists except ABS=1 should be off. Traction control in particular can severely castrate your time. I have all the Special Events except X1 challenge Golded. DS3 User.

Well I golded Toscana first try (No aids ABS=1) very strangly. Maybe because of the Licenses I golded after 1000 tries.

Other two where very hard, because the Tracks are new and very long.
=> had to do some practice
=> golded Eiger (same setup)

And after that I thought yeah do the same with chamonix. But it was no good for me.
0.035 off gold -_-
I couldn´t increase my time even after 50 new tries.
=> SRF on => I golded it first try and was 6sec faster than Gold-Time -_-

=> C4 WRC won

Funny thing: After I won the Chamonix race I did grind a bit
=> 1000 Ticket
=> another C4 -_- *boing*

Does anyone have any idea what's different setup-wise about the normal C4 WRC and the one used for the Loeb challenge? I can take the one from the dealership to Chamonix and do a 3:40 or 3:41 with it straightaway without putting on my tryhard shoes, but with the same car in the Loeb challenge I struggled to get the 4:19 needed for bronze. Vastly different levels of grip, with the Loeb challenge car having less on identical tires. Ran in both cases no aids save for ABS = 1. What gives?

I may as well ask since this thread was revived, but I don't see any tune options in the Sebastian Loeb Challenge. Was this removed with an update? Bear in mind I've been playing GT5 since last week.

EDIT: Yay! Managed to gold Tuscana in my second try. :D Still, the question stands!
EDIT 2: Golded Eiger by 4 seconds after a couple of tries (downhill section is horrible as hell).
EDIT 3: Golded Chamonix on my second full attempt. First one had me going 8 seconds slower, missing bronze. Knowing the track makes a lot of difference.

Me too! I found all the license test and special events challenges to be impossible to bronze, let alone gold them until I had the brilliant idea of having my 11 year old niece do them for me!:lol:
