If new cars cost 4$ then yes I'd buy every one of them:tup:👍 Or in relative terms if a new Ferrari to me was like $4 to everyone else in terms of my wealth, then yes I'd buy all of them too, regardless of whether they are good or bad.

There comes time when the price point is so low it's irrelevant. You walk into a Dollar Store and see a stainless steel soup ladle on the rack and you want one, most people that have a job wouldn't be saying to themselves, "gee I wonder if I can afford that or if it's good value". It's a buck. Likewise $4 is a no brainer. I like the game, it's an addition to the game so I get it. If I didnt like the game or didn't play it regularly it would be different but for anyone that plays the game on a regular basis I don't see how you can even debate it. It's $4. Even if I get it and I don't like the cars so what? If you can even find something for $4 anywhere anymore that isn't food, it's not worth my time and effort to return it to a store I bought it at. I saw a bin in a variety store yesterday that had two chocolate bars in it for almost the same price!!

You obviously didn't get my point. Its not about the money your right $4.00 is nothing. My point is don't buy something you don't want just to support PD. Its obviously a good DLC for you and by all means buy it and enjoy it.

Ok, just tell me why you spend your time on this forum if your disappointed with the game?? Why am I the only one that understands how big a project GT5 was, and that all the problems people have with are completely explainable.

When you respond to a post, it is generally common courtesy to actually read the contents of it; because he gave you the answer to that question before you even asked it (as have many others in this thread).

First, I'm not spending much time here since I am not currently playing GT5.

Also, I seriously doubt your the "only one".

Explainable?

They took almost 6 years to make and release a incomplete, sub standard GT game.
Thats all there is to it.

You can make excuses if you like, but there's nothing to explain.

You may not understand this, but being the GT fan that I am, I would much prefer the message for PD to be one of disappointment,
in hope that history does not repeat itself with GT6.

First of all I don't know what 37kazzmark's problem is. If you love GT so much and want to support them i'm sure PD will give you their address and you can send as many checks to them as you want to you know support them. I paid my $60+ for the game, SuperCobraJet probably spent $60 or more on GT5 so everyone has a right to their opinion without you jumping all over them. I check the site out maybe once a week or so maybe less hoping there will be something worth buying like a good DLC pack but i've got to the point that I really could care less about the game anymore. Another thing i'm sick of is everyone saying "Oh just wait GT6 will be even better" nope not falling for that anymore, don't we always here that the next game will be better the next will better ect?...

You have no more rights on this forum as anyone else does. You can ignore the posts you don't like and just blindly throw your money at PD.

37kazz is a fan-boy, we get it. What I appreciate seeing is opinions like SuperCobraJet. This is no longer a fanboy or hater issue, it is about consumers spending money on a product that did not live up to the pre-release hype. I have bought every release in the Gran Turismo series and I can no longer accept Kaz and Sony's arrogant attitude. The product released is not complete, the car list is outdated, and the dlc releases have been sub-par. This could have been an epic chapter in the series and it just doesn't come off as it should have. This was a failed effort and until that message gets through to those who make the decisions, this franchise will miss out on its opportunity to be the definitive automotive video game on any system.I spent a lot of money buying the limited Edition boxed version so I will play it and get my money's worth out of it. That said, I will not buy GT6, nor any of the dlc unless it is useful for me. Unfortunately until this message reaches those in a position to make decisions, fanboy and hater posts only dilute the consumer outcry.

I want more tracks, real ones. no more GTR's. Maybe some more forza DNA. And please don't listen to these fools that want a livery editor, they play to much Shift 2. If anything a motorswap, and or clutch button !!! If there was a better driving game out there on PS3 I'd be playing it.

I don't get why I should be disappointed with this game, someone please explain? Yea, I sound like a fanboy, sorry I can't help it that I love this game so much, whenever I buy a new game within 1 day, I'm back on GT5. Is it because you guys don't have a full racing rig setup? because I can understand it would be pretty boring using a controller all the time.

I'm completey open so tell me what your disappointed with and I'll respond, and don't say 'because there's 800 standard cars, honestly I don't care about interior view, all I care about the way the car feels to drive.

I agree with K37, game is not perfect but I do not think any games is. I dont have a lot of time to play games but when I do, it is always GT 5. I love racing games and this is perfect enough for me.

Its a lot of small issues. PD wasted time on suits when time could have been spent doing something that involves racing on the track, photo mode is ok but again I though GT was about racing what does taking fake pictures in a video game have to do with racing? I enjoy Le Man, GT, touring cars (old Opels and Mercs and Audi) but its the same cars that have been in GT since the '90s very few new have been added. Fan favorite tracks have been left out like Test Track, Special Stage R11, Midfield, Apricot Hill, Seattle ect... Lack of A Spec races, having to waste time buying a car only for one 5 lap race and thats it. Toyota Prius premium but left out Bugatti, Lambo Diablo, ect... I don't know about you but why would I want to race cars in a game that I wouldn't even want to drive in real life? Le Man 24 Hour weekend what did they do add a season with french cars with lawn mower engines and race around La Sarthe, at a whopping 60mph top speed yawn fest. Choosing the exact opposite of what the majority of fans want. Can we have the Buggatti as a premium NOPE but you can have a Prius Touring car or another Mini Cooper thats no different than whats already in the game. People want tracks please but instead we get more helmets, or museum cards or car was coupons REALLY? 10 cars can have RM mods but only a few worthy of being RMed IMO.

...I think people underestimate those two Volkswagen R's, they are 4WD, 188KW/255HP! Once tuned they will be awesome...

Actually, no.

The 'Rocco is rated at 265HP and is FF
The Golf is 270HP and 4WD

Don't ask me, ask VW

Will I buy the DLC? - No.
Why? - YLOD

cheers

Okay kazz, here goes. This is more about consumerism and less about love for the game. I have been playing video games since the original Nintendo system came out, I had an Atari when I was a kid. The Gran Turismo Franchise was revolutionary in its infancy. It provided superior graphics and began to introduce Kaz's vision of an automotive library in digital format. At the time, companies like EA and Codemasters were putting out good products but they were a step behind the GT franchise. When GT4 was released it was at the time, the pinnacle for the Franchise, tons of cars, tracks and great visuals. However, EA and Codemasters were closing the gap quickly. The Dirt series was born and EA was preparing to release its Shift racer, which ended up viscerally better than GT, but lacked the polish and car library. It was however, much more relevant to North American fans than the huge Japanese influence in the GT series. When GT5 was promised it was to be the next evolution in the series, however in the 6 years it took to release it, other companies had closed the gap completely. Game content was much more current and had cars only a year old. In Dirt 2 and Dirt 3 the content was current, Grid had been out and was impressive and the Shift Series evolved into a great online racer. Shift 2 had GT cars from the FIA GT series and current road cars. GT5 should have been better in a number of ways but it wasn't.

The car content is dated. The newest models were a year old and there were very few. Much of the content was a direct port from GT4. The track list was cut down and when the competitors were providing many world class real circuits in their games, GT cut back on track content and offered new fantasy tracks. For those of us who are motorsports fans and work in the motorsport industry, it was a huge disappointment.

The vehicle sounds and handling dynamics were a mild improvement over GT4 which by now has been surpassed by other racing games. Really the only superior part of GT5 is the social networking aspect, car count and photo-mode. However, the majority of people don't appreciate the creative aspects of the game and relate more to the gameplay aspects. The fact that we, the fans, waited 6 years for this was disappointing. As a consumer who pre-paid for the game that missed its release dates and ended up being less than it could have been, I believe we have a right to be disappointed.

If they had spent the 6 years modeling relevant tracks, like their competitors, modeling current relevant cars and motorsports subjects and combine that with the creative aspects of the game it would have been epic! Instead, it is full of old cars, too much Japanese content, poor audio, and an overall underwhelming presentation. They needed to put in current motorsports subjects, FIA GT, Rally and Endurance racing cars, more current road cars and more North American and European subjects.

The dlc could help in this matter. You would have the base game with its enormous content to build on but instead the dlc is copies of the same cars and when they do choose something new its not important subject matter.

GT5 could have been so much more than it is and that is where I feel let-down. I spent my money on it, I play it and I enjoy aspects of it but on the other hand it is in some instances a let-down. I should not had to wait 6 years to find that out.

GEE I don't know maybe it's because the forum isn't named GT5planet and GTplanet, the difference is a support for GT as a series the other is just you guys supporting one GT game. Sad part is alot of the newer GT players have only played GT5 that I've met online and yet they weigh in like they have a base or some idea of what GT games were like before this one. You're quite funny, also did you work on the GT5 "project"? If so can I get evidence for this I think I'd speak for all of us if you could show us some, and then break down just how tough it was.

Thanks.

The GT86 is free.

Wasn't that car already designed and what not for a while, according to videos that PD put out themselves. If this is so then you and I both know it should be free. I also hear the VWs were already modeled a while back wanted to see if anyone knows if this is true and can I get a link or other evidence...

Employees

Polyphony Digital = 140+
Electronic Arts = 8000+ (Yes I know they make several games at once)
Codemasters = 800+

And yet GT5 has better graphics and way better physics.

^ That's highly biased and subjective? Also PD only makes GT games, break down the groups. Not all EA employees work on EA racing games. Also you don't have T10 up there and Codemasters UK build the F1 games but you don't put up their numbers. Basically these are skewed numbers to support an argument that you have baited us in to. Also PD has made plenty of money off the five main Gt games and that isn't counting the other games made by them, yet they haven't grown as much as they could and that is their issue. They obviously think that they can produce the game the fans want with that many people.

Also if you want to argue this, like you've obviously baited us into there is the GT vs FM thread and the GT dissapointment thread just to name two of them. You having us "explain" or rather argue here is a waste of space like I've said already and I wouldn't be surprised if this thread go shut down soon.

I bought the DLC and will buy the next i just wish they'd make NEW cars, i badly want a bentley continental GT and shelby mustang GT500 or saleen mustang.

To be honest I hate fighting about too, I'm sick of reading people's dislikes about his game, I want to talk to people that love this game not point out its 'flaws' all the time..

Once againt there are threads already made about that and you making a new one and lack of searching is once again a waste of space. If you see a thread that you believe is out to thrash GT5 then gee I think not clicking it might help you get past your angst towards those who have angst for GT5. Just common sense, but to me you seem to be baiting for an argument so can't say I really believe you but I'm not you so I have to take what you say for face value.

So please support PD, buy the DLC! and please if you don't like GT5 anymore or never have stop bothering the real fans, cause it almost feels embassassing for us to see you bagging it so much on a dedicated GRAN TURISMO FORUM! The place for the fans, not haters.

I didn't have the need to post anything negative about PD or Sony but you tickled me.

Seeing how I just bought "old" DLC only to find that it doesn't work because of region limitation and that Sony is not replying my email, I'll skip on this "new" one and see to warn anyone IRL about it.

Oh, and both Sony and PD can shove it up their tubes.

What region are you in? Australia? The reason I ask is so I know for one in the future and two because Australia seems to get neglected by PD in various ways.
