Does it have to be functional to qualify?

We have 2 in the house. A "front-loader" and a "top-loader". Both work, but the "top loader" works best, so it sees quite a bit of use.
We also have a working SNES and a 64.
I just wish you could still find good controllers for the N64.

Yeah, Gil. Do you remember 1080 snowboarding? That game was analog-stick death.

I can't believe you have a toploader, though. Wow. I've never even seen one in person.

I had the same problems and I bought 4 brand new ones in 2003. (3 of them are still unused until today). Well I bought them in Central Shinjuku, Tokyo for about 2500 YEN each, which is about 20 $ I think...
Not the easiest way to get new pads ;)

I have a working NES, SNES, and N64, which collect dust in my attic while my GameCube collects dust in my room. :lol: I also have a first-gen Genesis.

I have a 'front-loader' as Gil put it. I have a copy of Xevious and a fully working Nintendo arcade stick for it. I still play it every now and then.

I'm horrible at posting pics.
The top loader is the newer console. The cartridge just pops in the top of the machine.
The Front-l;oader is the original machine that requires you to lift the door on the front, put the cartridge in, and down, close the door and then turn it on. It's also about 2.5 times the size of the little top loader, and has more moving parts. I suspect that's why the top loader works better.

My frontloader is still going strong. It's more reliable than my PS2 :lol:

I've got two frontloaders, of which I replaced both of the pins in recently. They both work like brand new and get used as much, if not more than my PS2. They were such an important part of my life when I was younger. My brothers and friends had many good times with Super Mario Bros. I, II, and III. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles games were/and are still some of my favorites. Just the thousands of games available made it something that anyone could pick up on. It still has a sort of charisma that just makes it seem a little more special than what these new "technologically advanced" machines are capable of. Back then, no one thought they could get better, and now we have the most advanced consoles of our time, and we don't think anything can be improved, but it does. It still is nice though to get back to the basics and see what started it all.

okay thanks mine's a front loader then but the lid snapped off mine a while ago

i just decided to get my NES out again and hook it up again

here's the games i've got:

kung fu
super mario bros/duck hunt
super mario bros
super mario bros [again]
super mario bros 2 [one of my all time favourite NES games]
super mario bros 3 [one of my all time favourite NES games]
double dragon
NES open tournament golf [one of my all time favourite NES games]

a lot of them have got the covers torn off i'll show later

when i said they don't have to be in working order i meant can't get games going just as long as you can turn it on and see the red light flashing on and off every second or so on the NES and on the TV see a white screen flashing every time the light goes on

I've got two front loaders in my room, and one front loader at my dads. I dont know if the one at my dads still works, though. I also have 2 N64s.
I have plenty of accesories and games for the NES, But they're all in my basement, so I can't really specify what I have cuz I'm too lazy to walk down 3 flights of stairs:) .

Hate to get off topic (not totally) but heres a list of systems I have.
NES=3
N64=2
GC=1
Gameboy(original)=3
Gameboy pocket=1
Gameboy color=2
Gameboy advance=3
Gameboy advance SP=2
DS=2
PS=1
PS2=2
PSP=1
Xbox=1
360=1
PC=2
Atari=2
Dreamcast=1

I think I have more, but I'm very tired so these r the ones I remembered.

I sold my NES(front loading) and Famicom(Japanese NES) on eBay as "non-working". They still fetched $20 and over $30 for the Famicom.

Xevious used to be my favorite arcade game. 👍 I'm probably going to have to get that game for PS2 as part of that Namco Collection Disc.

You probably have the front loader. Top loader was released at the very end of the NES's life-cycle. Here it is:

I wish I had one, but now that Nintendo is talking about downloadable NES games for Wii, I'll probably opt for downloads.

We have the original front-loader. And the Light Zapper. And the NES Advantage stick. Boy is it fun! It's great to relive the old NES memories :D

I gave mine to my dad and he gave it to my brother. I am sure he still has it. Eventually I will probably get it back just like recently my Genesis was returned to me after my entire family played it. :)
Front loader.

Sweet, I guess I'll be getting that too.

I wonder how much they'll cost, if they'll cost anything. I already have access to the entire NES library, including all of the third-party developers, for free. Anyone with an internet connection has that same access. :indiff:

With the world of emulation as successful and accessable as it is, the inclusion of downloadable legacy games on the Wii will just be a weak gimmick...a gimmick that I will likely still indulge in, just for the hell of it, but a gimmick nonetheless.

Hopefully, Nintendo will include some other cool stuff with the service, like online scoreboards, contests, or even online multiplayer. Those things would certainly make the service worth it. :)

I'm really hoping Nintendo don't get greedy with those NES to (maybe)GameCube downloads, but you know how that goes. :indiff: Weren't they charging full new game price for "Excite Bike" and other NES classics for the Game Boy Advance at first? Since I hope to play those oldschool classics on TV/console combo, rather than PC, I hope Nintendo does this right. $5 each will be very reasonable for NES to N64, maybe around $10 for GameCube games.

Major hits from NES, SNES, N64, GameCube are given, but if they can bring in some SEGA and PC Engine/Turbo Grafx too, as the rumours suggests, I think this could be more than a gimmick. Of course, pricing and the number of available games will be very important.

I still got one, but the plug and av cable are lost somewhere in the closet, but you can download the same games on your computer with an emulator. Search the term on Google.

Yup, we have one here at my house...with a Light Zapper and the Advantage joystick and a stack of about 15 games.

i've decided to turn this into a club, i'll put all members in the first post and you should see it in about 10 minutes [stupid dialup]

I still hve the box my NES came in! and it's in it! HA BEAT THAT! lol It's the big box that game with the pad, the gun, and the 3in1 cartridge. Mario, Duck Hunt(best shooter ever!), and the olympics game.
