Why 20M limit?

i'm been playing since 2010 and have 1199 or so cars and have passed the limit a few times. All my cars are modified and some have fast tunes but i have never thought that i needed to save a ton of money as part of this game. i have expensive up keep for my garage. note a simple car wash 50 dollars an oil change 250 dollars. Too upgrade an average car is 200 thousand dollars also repairing the car after a night of racing can be 250 thousand just for the chassis for one car.Play the game i'm at 12million and not worried about having to much.heck give a newbee a car once in a while.most of all have fun that's why we are doing this right. O by the way i raced for my money no rubber bands used
 
I assume the introduction of the 20M cap is related to the Penniless trophy. I can't think of anything else that would otherwise justify it.
 
Obviously the cap is retarded, but it comes from developers that are retarded so it makes sense to PD. No player with an IQ in excess of 75 would defend the cap with a straight face.

The purpose of the 20,000,000 limit is to encourage both thrift and industriousness, qualities the Japanese and many Americans highly admire.

Except a cap has nothing to do with thriftiness or industriousness. These values would be more about getting the most out of less money. The cap doesn't prevent you from gaining heaps of money but just forbids you from keeping it, meaning it forces you to spend it which is the opposite of thrift.

The cap doesnt bother me, alright, so I've only hit it once, and I only do online racing so I'm not earning as fast.. But it doesnt bother me..
 
Wow this thread is still going? Surprised it hasn't been closed yet. And here's my opinion while i'm here. I love the cap. I think it's the best part of GT5.
 
I have hit the "Money Cap" so many times in almost 2 years of playing (Started over 3 times), that im numb to it. Doesnt bother me, because I can make the money right back if i need to.
I rarely drop under 15 million anyways, so no big deal. Just have fun and don't stress it.
