Why are they just rehashing old races?

Seriously; we've already done this stuff in the game. Seasonals are supposed to be something different... 👎

Disappointment upon disappointment - it is obvious now that they totally messed up in development and could only get half the game ready, so now they are slowly handing out what should have been A spec races, only now they call them "seasonal challenges" and pretend they are something special.

This is rubbish. GT5 is barely even half a game. As of today, seeing the half-hearted attempt of PD with these new "challenges", I have put my copy of GT5 up for sale, and will buy a game that is actually finished.

PD, you suck worse than any games developer I ever heard of. You are worse than a bunch of thieves.
Goodbye GTPlanet :)

You've clearly never played the Call of Duty games (MW2,& BOPS at least).
and oh goodbye

Seriously, dude... Can you say 'Drama Queen?'

Because people who don't mind the grind, won't realize they're racing the same races over & over.

Fact is it's not really a grind, it's slower, doesnt give as much exp as the DCC etc. That's good ofc, i hated when the seasonal events gave heaps of exp, however they do need to be different and set standars like they used to be, it was actually fun.

And they are ... a weekly addition to a already great game 👍

I don't understand, if they are going to take stuff from A spec and put it into the seasonals, why not use races and cars from the extreme series? Honestly, I did the first race in the Japanese seasonal and I'm not sure I'll do the rest lol.

To all those with the irrational hate against PD...which other game developer gives away free updates and content nearly every week? Sure, they're not enough to fully tide me over from having to grind Indy for the cash and cars I want, but it shows meaningful initiative towards extending the lifespan of the game.

And sure, you could say that these events SHOULD HAVE been in the original release...but then again, who are you to say that?

Then create your own damn game and try to sell 5 gazillion copies of your FINISHED GAME. Goodluck.

Ok, hater gone... Let's not turn this into a slam fest.

Can we get back to why they're putting crap like this out when they were doing so awesome at the start? I mean, ok if you don't want to give us all that cash and experience, but the old format was great. I had a blast with it. Just make the payout enough to pay for the car and tuning and I'm solid.

I wasn't so much referring to the cr & xp as much as I was referring to the use of similar themes & tracks.

The Classic Car event showed a momentary glimpse of brilliance by having the Tokyo reverse track,

while the '80s Japan events just gave us 5 races on tracks that are over used already.

At this point I could care less about the credits & xp (they can't leave that system alone anyhow),

as I've only been playing the game when the seasonals are updated.

What I want to see is more variety in the tracks they use.

How many races run on a reverse configuration?

Not very many, and yet they tout that as one of the great features of the game(70 different tracks?).

I almost wept inside when I saw that Tsukuba was one of the races. 👎

I enjoyed the 80's Japanese races allot, thanks PD.

Should have given us 2 laps at SSR7 so those who never tried the glitch could see that its fixed:dopey:.

The payout for these races would easily pay for your cars and tuning. Especially seeing how they're repeatable. You don't even need to tune your car to the max in most cases. Just chuck on a set of sports hard tyres and do an oil change and you're good to go:tup:

testing your cars in practice mode is much much much much much better than the new seasonals [ Except the F1 Races.. ]

IMO, it is a steaming pile of "mimesis". Really, is this the best they can do? Give me the event creator and I bet my 10year old can come up with a better event in one afternoon.

I'm really dumbfounded that PD can put out such a lack of creativity and originality. I mean they have a great game engine, beautiful visuals and a captive audience of millions at their disposal. But, they keep stumbling this way and that way and put out events that exhibits mind numbing mediocrity.

To all those who says shut up an enjoy the "free" content, I'd say bah. I'd still do them because there isn't anything better than this crappy event. But, as someone here said, free crap sandwiches still taste like crap. Did I say crap enough times.

all i've got to say on the matter is, thank god remote racing is on the go, as i think if it wasnt for that, i'd have shelved this game weeks ago.

I do enjoy it, but it gets repetative. That said if and when they do implement the in game save in particular for the endurance races, i'll be back lashing at getting to 40 on aspec. I'll prob be on 40 on bspec next week at this rate anyway

It's so rubbish I hate it they have a fricken week to make 5 races come on ur so rubbish PD give us 10 and actual hood payouts so I can get close to 1000 cars u haven't got long to change coz I got afew new games sitting there

Just to clarify--I was under the impression seasonal races only paid out once (if you get 1st), then you got no new prize moneys after that? This has happened to me on a number of races...is that not a standard thing?

Goodbye GTPlanet :)

Good riddance.

I thoroughly enjoyed the new races, as well as all the previous ones, found the payouts more than adequate and the custom track included this time around to be superb.

Why are they always using the same friggin' tracks ? and why are they are not using rally tracks like eiger or chamonix ? I mean those tracks look great and are fun but they are not used in any event except the loeb rally academy.

Anyway I will still pass through those events but it is really getting pathetic. PD are just re-using the same ''championships'' but they are changing the tracks...wow I'm impressed. Atleast they are not charging us money...

Those were the bonus races and special events.

These are different, they're closer to simply adding more A-spec races. They're repeatable but the payout is less. Rather than one massive sum of credits only once, you get a decent amount of money as many times as you feel like racing.

I do wish some of these would ditch the catch up style in favor of some actual races. Maybe a one-on-one versus a really fast car with the restrictions set so you have a slower car....

Ok so the complaint is that there was a race in the game with these cars in it already? Wouldn't that hold true for most races?

Instead of telling us all how much smarter and more creative you are than everyone at PD why don't you suggest what you would have done different?

This board sure is becoming a whine fest.

I dont understand it neither. I mean, last weeks classic car series (which wasnt even a real series in the sense of a tournament) was a nice change of pace to the normal SEs but overall those challenges of late are severely lacking the fun and challenge of the first few bonus races.

Sometimes it really seems to me like PD deliberately destroys any fun the players have with the game. They had a good formula, why screw it up? Instead they are now rehashing events that were already in the a-spec mode, thats just lazy and uncreative. The only cool part at the moment are the new courses. But why not make a whole series with those if you absolutely have to use the same cars as in the game already - instead they chose the Cape Ring and that godawful Tsukuba track for the umphillionth time again. :grumpy:

these should be the 5 tracks for next week for a change:

Nurburgring GP, London, Daytona, Eiger, Cote D'Azur

How about Nordschliefe, Daytona, Indy, La Sarthe, and Laguna-Seca, all in reverse? :) You could take away credits and XP for winning. :)>

Absolutely agree. 👍

Looks like there are way too many cup-half-empty people on here these days. Basically I used to just ignore it because this is an open forum and people have a right to their comments. But it's all going on a bit now and is becoming very tiring when you go onto a new thread with a perfectly legitimate question and it turns into a PD bashing session followed by an equally fervent 'shut up idiot' brigade...

... and that's about as wound up as I can get... nurse! the meds please...

Oh, and on topic - they aren't rehashing.
