Why can't everything be turbocharged

The post you quoted, was in response to someones response to my original post. Before you start calling people ignorant, at least be sure of what their point was.

How is it a stupid mistake? Take a Honda S2000 and throw a big turbo on it without changing anything. I'd LOVE to see you rev that car to 10,000 RPM more than a few times without throwing a piston through the hood.

How about a 88' Lebaron with 150k miles? Wanna try throwing a turbo on that car?

How about a Ferrari F40? You think it's not stupid to throw a turbo on that? That sir, would make you the ignorant one.

Okay man, I don't want to get into a big argument, i'm just simply saying that I disagree with your comment on putting a turbo on a car is a mistake. You can't seem to get along with people based on some of your previous posts and you are defiantly the ignorant one in this situation buddy!

Thanks for doing research on my posts. I tend to play the devils advocate, and could care less about whether people here think I "get along" with them.

As far as this situation, just because you disagree doesn't make me ignorant. You have a right to your opinion regardless of how screwy it may seem to others. Having an opinion does not make you ignorant. Accusing people of being ignorant for their opinions, makes you ignorant. Buddy.

I wasn't calling you ignorant because I disagree with your philosophy, I called you that because you said turbos "abuse and destroy engines" and that they are a "stupid mistake", do you not know how do read your own posts?

You must not also be aware of all the cars and trucks that come turbocharged stock. :dunce:

Edit: You also didn't say it in an opinionated way what so ever.

Dude your twisting my words. I said certain cars cannot handle the added stress of a blower, especially without modifying engine accessories at the very least. I never said "Turbo's abuse and destroy engines". Not once did that line get written by me. Do you not know how to read my own posts?

If your not already aware this thread is about turbocharging all cars and you said "Since GT5 doesn't feature any penalties for abusing and destroying engines", are you not talking directly about turbos doing this to your car? Please quote where you said "certain cars cannot handle the added stress of a blower, especially without modifying engine accessories at the very least" please.

Some engines are less suited to be blown. I don't know the specifics of that motor but if it's already really high strung, with a high compression ratio and thin cylinder walls, then putting a turbo on it would be a BAD idea.

The OP asked if all cars could be turbocharged. I said the above. I never said all turbo's are bad for all cars (although typically N/A cars are more reliable and last longer); not once. The part about "especially without modifying engine accessories at the very least" was added just recently as an embellishment to my point to aid in this argument.

I didn't find that post in the thread when I tried looking for one from you, i'm sorry for attacking you like I did but I saw your statement about "abusing" the car and a "stupid mistake" so I jumped on it right away because having a turbo on your car doesn't mean your abusing it by any means. All in all that's what I was also trying to say that some cars are better suited for a turbo(s) than others. 👍
