I have noticed that 2/3 of all new threads are people asking for something new, something changed, or something taken away from our beloved Gran Turismo 5.

I understand that everybody, (including myself,) would love to see the game tailored around, well, themselves.

But am I one the few that accepts the game for what it is? I am just curious. I mean, I would love to see my favorite cars in the game, more tracks, DLC, etc. Also, I will comment on those boards, as well. But, I still LOVE playing the game as it is.

My point is, isn't any body just happy with the original purchase and happy with whatever PD decides to put into after that? I know that I am.

This game is leaps and bounds over older versions. I mean play Gran Turismo 1 on PS for god's sake and see the difference.

I would think a lot of people enjoy the game, though. I just think it's impossible to cater to this many car fans' personal desires. But if people weren't playing regardless, there wouldn't be so many building G27 seats and hooking them up to the PS3.

It's just easy to complain about anything, perhaps ;)

I completely agree, Tower Turn 13 I have played since GT1 and can't be more happy with the game in it's currents form. I just think everybody is wanting GT6 to carter to EVERYTHING car.

GT6: 2014. 106 Discs, $5,999.00 us

I can even see the tag line:

"Every car imaginable, every way you want it, every variety, every livery, every way you want to drive it! Don't like the price? While you asked for it with all the complaining on GT5. Now quit your 🤬 and like it. Love, Polyphony Digital."

:banghead:

Are we talking about troll's here? I honestly just think there are people who just need to complain. I remember when GT5 was released people were complaining about the menu screen.

personally I have so much fun with this game as is! New stuff/improvements are a bonus and PD is great for providing regular updates like they are. I can't find a real complaint since the new update.

Are we talking about troll's here?

Yes, yes we are.

I insert foot into mouth. I didn't realize that Kaz wanted to implemented that.

Also, no means was this thread a shot at you TeddyBear-420, nor anybody else in particular. More so, the seeming less complaining about why this car or track isn't in GT. The constant dribble on duping and how people don't agree. (If you don't like it, don't do it. Period!!! The last time I checked, if anybody dupes, it doesn't effect my personal copy of the game, nor the way that I play." I am just really frustrated with so many people wanting their version of GT5, and nothing else will do. It also dumbfounds me on why the people wanting the game their way are mad at others who want it their way.

Sorry, I will get off my soap box. I do however want to apologize to you if it seemed that you were singled out, as this was not my intention.

I am a bit annoyed to that people complain so much. I mean it's a great game but you just see people complaining that it's not perfect, or there's a little glitch. Guess what, all games have a few little glitches.

Sure I would love a save in the middle of an endurance race, or more depth in A-Spec career but I am not going to complain about it and say the so and so is better. If you know a game that's better just play that in stead of complaining.

Rant Ended 👍

GT5 is by far better than any racing game ever. I love this game! I ran 1000km at Suzuka and wanted more. Can't wait for the next race. Online racing is so fun, I think about it all day at work and can't wait to get home. I've been playing Gran Turismo since it first came out in the 90's. I love it!

I think your perception is somewhat askew.
Sure there are those who want every frivolous feature one can imagine, including but not limited to, a cold beer served to you when you make a pitstop.
But thats not what many of the faithful here at GTP are lamenting over. Spawned from previous GTs we are fans because of those features in past games.
GT5 is a radical departure from much of that IMO.
Thus, it is no longer the GT we embraced, and difficult if not impossible to consider beloved.

I understand that everybody, (including myself,) would love to see the game tailored around, well, themselves.

There are so many absent features from previous GTs, I don't think I've thought of anything personally I want.
Many of us want the game tailored around, not so much what we personally want, but what we have grown accustomed to.

But am I one the few that accepts the game for what it is? .

Possibly, but I doubt it.

I am just curious. I mean, I would love to see my favorite cars in the game, more tracks, DLC, etc. Also, I will comment on those boards, as well. But, I still LOVE playing the game as it is.

Although minimal, the game is still an enjoyable play in some respects.
But again a farcry from GT3 and more-so GT4.

My point is, isn't any body just happy with the original purchase and happy with whatever PD decides to put into after that? I know that I am.

Not me, and its isn't likely I will ever be pleased with this game.

Good for you.

My reply on comments such as yours is always the same.
Did you ever play GT4?

I'm happy with the portions of the game that I think are well done, but I went out and bought another racing game to fill gaps and I suspect it will get more play time than GT.

I really enjoy taking cars out on the ring by myself, and doing some of the time attack style races here on GTplanet, but aside from that I'll be racing on F1 2010, likely until 2011 comes out.

I've been playing since GT1 and the only real gripe I have extends back to GT3 when they did away with the Cerbera LM car. the fact PD have released 2 patches fixing the majority of our initial issues shows they care. some people just like to moan about something.

I'll confess I did want endurance race save option, but now the Nurburg 4 hour race gives 2m xp Le Man's only needs to be raced once.

I do like GT for what it is, a very good time trial simulator. As long as you don't hit a wall its very realistic as far as time trialing alone on a track.

That shouldn't mean I don't want it to be better. For me its always the little things with GT that become soo annoying after many hours played. Something as simple as ff rr controls in a replay, missing cars that should be in GT5, or the lackluster online. These to me are unanimously agreed issues that could be resolved if PD had time and knowledge.

For now I will contiue to scratch the GT5 itch when it appears, but will be on FM3, TDU2, COD, and Fallout NV most of the time. GT's problem is its to much like it used to be, it has not changed with the times, and feels very dated. Though this is only MY opinoin while I know there are many other that love GT and disagree, but in the end we all love it for what it does for us individually. For me that time trialing, besting old times, and never, ever, never comparing them to anyone but me because I (like PD) hate leaderboards[Sarcasm], lol.:)

Cause it's a piss poor effort.

Because people are entitled to their opinions, yes its a great game but after waiting 5 years for a game, you would of thought there would have been some more depth in A-spec racing. As for the cars, why do we need 400 mitsubushi evos and subaru imprezas, bit of variation wouldnt go a miss.

Look, I am over 40 years old. I am playing driving games on a games console, in a ridiculous attempt to claw back some of my dignity I am going to moan like no ones business about it.

Answer to the thread title: Most people do like GT for GT's sake. However, message boards draw three kinds of people: Those that want help, those that want to help, and those that like to complain. That's a decent % of the message board traffic relegated to complaints, although the vast majority of players are having fun.

Lol GT5 is not a racing game its a driving game, you have either not played any real racing games or you have tunnel vision , there a FAR better racing games out there by a mile.

I also agree. I can't take the "We need this, we need that." "I want this, I want that." Just be happy that you're playing the latest GT. People make it out to be a horrible game and it's not. I'm also sick of hearing others say GT4 is better than GT5... Um, what?

Just stop complaining already. We're getting great updates and it's making a great game even better. Some just want too much.

I love GT, but i hate that they left out the one thing that i loved about the previous versions. The Test Track! God, i spent so many countless hours on that track trying to break top speed records or just drag racing various cars from my garage (against each other in 2-player mode even). As cool as the game is, i'm just continually depressed by that one little extra thing missing (especially now that 'spinning tire' physics are so much more real than they were in GT4).

There's other things i like/dislike. It's true i'd like to have GT built "my way". I just hope there's enough people out there with the same mindset as me so that PD notices what people really want in this game.

More tracks, more cars, more modes.

i would so buy it too,

If you are happy with the game, great. I'm glad you love it.

One question though, why does it bother you so much that people have an opinion that is different than yours? If you like mushrooms should everyone?

I'd like to think all of the complaining(discussion of the game's shortcomings) helped guide PD in what to improve upon in the last update. If the people here, who obviously care about the game, didn't try to communicate to each other their thoughts on their perceived flaws in the game then PD would think all is well and do nothing.

Complain about the complainers if you wish but they are at least complaining about a product they purchased.....you are complaining about words on the internet.

I agree with this 100%

There's a difference between complaining and constructive criticism...

People make it out to be a horrible game and it's not..

Thats your impression.
Its not horrible, just mediocre and far below previous GT standards.
Worst is the lost potential. Immeasurable.
This game could have been a truly great beyond measure, far surpassing all the competition as well as its previous games.
At almost 6 yrs dev time, thats exactly what it should have been.

I'm also sick of hearing others say GT4 is better than GT5... Um, what?

Um, what?

GT4:
4 times as many A-spec events than GT5
Much more variation of A-spec events
More Championship and medium length races
More and better rally events
Huge selection of wheels for all cars
Far superior progression system
Far superior credit system
Far superior difficulty system(A-spec pts.)
More tracks and better selection of tracks
savable car setups
Tire wear variance from hard to soft compounds
Qualifying and/or practice for Championships
oil change and saves during championships
Nitrous oxide
Brake upgrades
on screen pit notification
Better used car lots and more selection
more replay options
B-spec speed up and changeover option
Many more sellable cars

Just stop complaining already. We're getting great updates and it's making a great game even better. Some just want too much.

Um, what?

Yea I do agree with the OP there is so much hate and greediness from most people. Just play the game for what it is. Who are you to ask Polyphony to do anything?

I am also over the threads of I want this car or Whats the fastest fwd car or whats the best setup for this car.

I think the problem is that there are alot of kids on this forum that really dont understand how to modify their cars and the physics involved in doing things.

I also think there needs to be better moderation because there is so much crap to sift through on these forums!

Who cares what you want for the next update. Its not up to you.
