I drift a lot, I've been drifting in GT5 since prologue first hit the shelves and I bought GT5 just so I could continue doing so. Most probably not as long as most of you here but its a pretty good stretch to learn how to drift properly.
Now I have a whole range of PROPER drift cars like my RX7, Monaro, RX8 and a bunch more.
But I also have a fairly big range of vehicles that you normally wouldn't see drifting at all. I've tuned all these cars such as a 40's VW Beetle, Honda Odyssey (Van), Daihatsu Midget and others. So when I decide to bring one of those out on the track, why do people rage so hard when I am clearly drifting around the track, even better than some of the other people on that server?
I was just in a D1 Tandem Drift room, the owner was Tandem_Sativa. Now the guy had it restricted to Comfort Hard, thats understandable if EVERYONES car was tuned to work best on them. How ever my cars are tuned to work comfort soft or sports hard depending on their power. So I simply just said "Comfort hard restricted?" as in a hint that it would be nice to have comfort soft also. If he refused to change it then no worries, I will use one of my drift cars that work better on that type of tyre.
BUT instead of saying "nah it stays as CHard", out of no where he just rages over his mic about my honda odyssey and starts telling me that it cannot drift and that I should leave before I get kicked. Not to mention while he is saying all this I am holding it sideways around the Toscana track he made. I told him that it does drift and he said "Get 🤬" and kicked me.
Its like another time on a Tsukuba Drift session, I brought the VW out and and I had that sideways 90% of the time taking every corner perfectly fine. I was keeping up with most cars in the group until the server owner picked up his mic and decided to be a raging hero.
If you are one of those people that have a big issue and think that its a must, as if its some kind of law, for EVERYONE to drift what people would call a proper drift car.. Then give your opinion as to why.
