when you are in a race and someone comes in behind you and hits you as hard as they can why are they doing that:dunce:

There can be many reasons behind contact like that. One is brake-checking, or carrying more speed than the driver(s) in front. I occasionally do something like this when I race with the AI on tight tracks like Nordschleife or tracks with lots of heavy braking zones, but it isn't deliberate. I even complain when this happens, since it risks me going off or worse :p

They do it because they can and like to punt you off. Go into a clean room and they should get kicked for doing it.

Well, one way I avoid this is taking a line where no one follows. But this is different on tight tracks, where situations like this are very tricky to escape from. Sometimes, it may be even necessary to go wide intentionally or go a couple of inches too deep in the rumble strips to avoid such encounters. However even then, minor little bumps are likely. Another way is 'sharing' a driving line. Although, this only complies with clean drivers.

If you are talking about racing at Daytona in NASCAR cars, or any car for that fact, its called bump drafting and it is perfectly fine to do. Matter of fact, it is advised, lol. If you are talking about circuit course racing, sounds like they are just trying to "punt" you off the track which is just dirty racing.

At Daytona and Route X it is call bump drafting. But if the other car is slamming into you as hard as they can then they are doing it completely wrong. To bump draft you need to make contact with the bumper in front of you in order to draft together. At these tracks, 2 cars are usually faster that 1.

At the rest of the tracks, contact should not be made.

The above-mentioned method is only worth or deliberate to be conducted in case all the adversary cars are driven by AI drivers, it's nothing but a nuisance to actually do that to other machines controlled by the hands of human players, breaching rules for comfortable playing after all.

If people hit you intentionally, then they are just being mean. however on some of the tracks hiting people it part of the game. with ssrx and daytona, sometimes indy, bump drafting is fair game because both players want to be much faster. on curcuit racing, however this is not what people are suppose to do. if you're having problems, then leave the room and go into another clean room. don't stupe to their level and hit them back. feel sorry for them, they can't really drive.

I bump draft on the back and middle straights on Nurb quite often if I am tryting to chase down the leader. Getting around that 2nd place car (unless they are really slow) is secondary to catching the leader. Remember, 2nd place is the 1st loser.

I met this once, probably they are too eager to win the race. If he does it without means, he'll probably say 'sorry' to you afterwards. If he does this deliberately, he'll probably continue racing without apologies (or worse, they could shout '🤬', and then leave the room, but that rarely happens)

I'm gulity of doing this as well. i generally don't mean it, however sometimes i don't have choice because i hit the brakes too late. i sometime get eager to win, and so i race much harder than i mean to. :guilty:

I got this last night for driving my Volvo 240........In a free Run room.

1 simple answer.....

I race dirty Nascar nightly. If a good smart racer or a friend falls way behind from a wreck, I will line up our cars and ram them. This gets them up to speed very quickly and almost ensures that I'll have a drafting partner to catch up with the leaders. This is also a good way to make friends and some even return the favor. Please note that damage is off when we race.

Yeah but that's much different than ramming someone into kitty litter, screwing up their line, damaging their car, pushing your way into someone else's apex, etc.

Dirty rooms are fine, because they're usually marked as such.

I still advocate gtp series. They seriously make you better. You go back to random rooms and want to throw up a lot of the time. Although the exception is some of those 450-650pp rooms with some seriously fast streetracers.

I think if the OP was talking about being in Dirty NASCAR rooms, or dirty rooms in general, the OP wouldn't be wondering about why someone's ramming them.
