It's because his is a square, and yours is a rectangle...

or 150 x 150 I forgot.

And yet I still have numerous problems with my own avatars. This one was 984x1200 to start...

...though I think I've found a really good picture to use. Unfortunately, that one's really tall...other than that, it'd be perfect.

Hell, even I watch MLP, but MSTER232, that went a little too far there mate.
 
I don't watch MLP. Mainly because I am a grown man and will not allow my self to be drawn in by these colourful characters. No matter how cute they are,( and damn they are!), but the comment that one of the ponies look nice with a ponytail, mate even I know that's too far! Lol.
