In pagan religions and systems, a spirit animal or totem is meant to be a representation of the traits and skills that you are supposed to learn or have. Online, saying something or someone is your spirit animal is a statement that said person or thing is a representation of you or what you want to be.

I decided to take a test to determine what my spirit animal was. And I must say, I am pleased with the result as I feel like this animal and I can connect on more than one instance. My result was the deer. Here's the specifics behind the deer spirit animal if you wish to learn more or take the test for yourself. All of these characteristics/totems have applied/do apply to me in one way or another.

Interesting. Decided to try it out myself and my result was the bear, which ironically is already my Native American Animal Totem.

I believe you go to your profile page, and click on your current avatar. It should prompt you with a file up-loader.
