Why do you play GT5 and not another racing game?

EDIT: ^Basically this :D
Car Selection (Coupled with decent physics), hence why it's not a new NFS.

I play every racing game going but my answer is I play it to collect everything,if I wanted a pick up and play game I play FM4 but GT5 feels alot more serious than most other games and also the AI doesn't ram you off the track.

Physics and amounts of normal street cars and tracks. It is the ultimate "how does that car drive simulator". Sometimes I just take bunch of cars to comparison on some track and see which is best in those conditions.(like they did in best motoring)

Because its the best, always has been since gt1. I played alot on dirt 2 but only while I was waiting (and waiting) for gt5 to come out. Played forza and its fantastic but not up to the god of racing games that is gt5

I just find myself everytime I play it, oh I've never tuned/driven that before! It's a Never ending car list.

Meditation, brand loyalty, I like Kaz, the jazz music on the menu screens, the in game music (even if I turn it off), the logo, the feeling I get from playing, etc. etc.

The endless possibilities of tuning up cars and viewing what they can compete against keeps me coming back. I always buy a random car from the UCD, soup it up to its utmost maximum, and head to the Seasonals. Thank you so much PD for giving me a reason to do this. :D

Amen.

Me because I thought the game was going to be badass...
But then I didnt see the 100 million Japanese supercrappy standard cars
The only thing I loved are the challenges, and licenses getting them gold, oh and the vettel challenge, because its hard.
I was really dissapointed...

If the creator doesn't fix the sounds of cars and doesnt fix standard models, I will never buy any Gran Turismo game again. (remind you that I bought all and completed all!)

I saw a youtube clip of Forza 4, with the SLR Stirling Moss and through my PC boxes came better car sound from Forza 4, than through my Onkyo 7.1 reciever playing GT5, now think of that...

Guess you won't be playing a GT game again then. 👍

No other racing game on the PS3 can match it in my opinion, and there's really no other racing game in general like it, but some of it is just loyalty from playing way back on the first Playstation console. :p

I'd have to agree... I am a fan of other series of racing games but nothing really compares to GT overall. I hope they never stop producing more either, I couldn't picture not having Gran Turismo anymore...

Have a good one

What is AI?

In my opinion it is the most realistic, best car and track collection (though a few good ones are missing), great driving model, fun to play and collecting cars really feels like something.

after playing iRacing for a while something about GT5's physics just doesn't feel right, it's extremely forgiving, especially with oversteer, the cars also feel like they have no real weight in comparison to the tire load on the ground and how that affects grip and loss of it, but still the best driving game on PS3, maybe all consoles

GT5 is my most played racing game ( I still thoroughly enjoy a lot of racing games, arcade and sim), because I usually prefer a good clean challenging race, without any silly gimmicks. Its straight and to the point, has huge car selection, physics are great and it improves my driving fundamentals in real life.

The biggeat reason is when I get in an online race battle against players with similar driving skill. That can sometimes get my adrenaline goin like no other game ever has.

Because its the most real out of all the racing games (on ps3) but there is a huge amount of things they could do to make it a more fun game. if race driver grid worked with my g27 i would play that a lot. gt5 was a huge let dwon for me. i mean come on over 1000 cars 90% of them are play station 2 graphics. Real car damage yeh if the cars are made from 5inch thick steel. and would not have been hard from them to make it so you could put graphics in your car. What i would of loved is a free roam track like a shipping yard or somthing, Dirt that stays on your car until its washed since the wash u buy changes nothing!, and would like for cars to get dents and they stay there till you do a body resto. also want the AI to make mistakes like in grid thats only a small part of what i would want tho lol

This times infinity.

I dont play any of them

No, they just spin you out or did they fix it?

I literally played it for about a week and got bored with it. The sound is better but still very lacking, the customizations are the same stage 1 2 and 3 that they've always been with some pretty pictures added. The car painting is ridiculous etc etc. The game feels very unfinished and some things about are just downright annoying. Standard cars and the painting for example. Lets give then an options to paint their cars, but lets make it overly complicated and a huge PITA to use.

I'm done with it. Xbox360 and Forza 4 for me.

I don't play other games because they are too expensive I have 3 game's:
GTA IV, COD BO and Gran turismo 5. I just play these and I can't play any other race game because I don't have them:(

I've been wondering how different they would be. I've also been contemplating trying it out. The graphics don't appear to be as good as GT5, but it's also hard to tell without actually seeing it first. Maybe next time I have some days off, I'll buy a month or so to try it out.

That's because they have more realistic physics/features that can't be discovered in other racing games popular as a racing game along with GT, plentiness in the number of cars and diversity, and great songs music played during a race, the music makes the entire competition more fun and inspires me to push forward when I'm not doing well on it, left behind others by far dozens of seconds.
