Why does GT5 get so much praise?

Damage is another sad part. 180 into a wall and I'm still moving? No the car should be totaled and the wheels are gone and the engine block is in my chest and the race is over. NFS did it and it was fun and it kept you on point.

Some cars and tracks look incredible, but majority look pretty bad.

Solution: Go play NFS instead of whinging about GT5 then.
 
Manufacturer's probably prohibit PD from implementing full damage?

I don't have a clue. This guy should win the Darwin award. Really, I think I'm going to puke. I hate these threads. :banghead:
 
Ok I can give you one solid reason why they don't have EVERY single tuner company with all their own parts and way more cars. It's a game. Yea that's right, a game. Did you ever think, maybe some people don't like tuning their cars because they want to experience the car as if it rolled out of the factory? I'm sure I'm not the only one who would be outraged at PD wasting their time in making More tuning options and wheels. It just seems like a waste of time. I'd prefer them just add more cars and tracks. Also, I care about a Nissan Leaf and a 1200 Beetle. I'd much rather drive something with a rich history behind the car than something with loads of power. I'm not interested in the latest Lamborghini or most Ferraris and would much rather drive a classic car with say 100 HP. What is so interesting about an Aventador aside from it having 650 HP? Nothing really.
 
@Cpizzythegod You dummy. This isn't a "RACING" simulator, it's a "DRIVING" simulator. Why do you dislike this game so much, then go play Shift 2 then... Oh man complainers can act up....

Kaz himself said that no manufacturer would allow damage that would prevent the car from finishing the race

and stop going 180 into a wall.

I think that's the problem though.. why fill a game with cars and have terrible research done on them? :\ Like active steering insead of being a purchaable drivetrain unlock.. you have to go research into whether a car has active steering or not.. I know you may be thinking to yourself "well any car can have active steering" but that's the the point.. the point is that you can drive a car stock and it asks you if you want it even though you didn't purchase it and it didn't come on the car initially :\ small things like that... I'm going to have to agree with Cpizzy on this one, I was a little disappointed given how much time they had to create the game..

All I am saying is that I love the Gran Turismo Series more than any other racing series. I just feel that KAZ could of done so much more that what he has done. I'm not saying satisfy certain peoples wishes and desires, I'm saying satisfy them all. Video games have limitless potential so utilize it. Give us more of everything.
 
This is a questions and answer forum so I have questions on why the game hasn't made bigger progressions. I am looking for answers.
 
Shift 2 has some dope aspects, they came a long way from the first. Unfortunately they fell short of many other elements. What GT5 needs is what Shift 2 has added to what GT5 already has. Is that hard?
