Why doesnt the computer save the best time you have for races.

How come the lap record is not saved from race to race you only get to see the best lap for that race only?????

I dont think it matters anyway. This is the first time I get to read this.

There are many other annoying things that the computer does, like shifting unproperly. It really annoys me on the license tests.

That would be a nice idea. If you can keep your best lap times from the tracks you do, then you could compare to your own times on how you are driving...

I don't know if that would take up that much more room on the memory card. It could even just bundle the times with your garage, that way it wouldn't have to load 2 different files....

Now to think about it, it can only load one file save at a time anyway

Dunno - used to do it for GT1 (along with the fastest lap at a track for each series, and highest speed acheived), and then in the bug-fest that was GT2 although the provision for the lap record was on the screen it never actually worked. Bit of a bugger, that - it was a good way of comparing cars...

I really, really miss that. I had a little '1 minute challenge' where I'd run fully worked cars around the Autumn mini-ring two lap open entry race, where I'd try to complete the two laps in under a minute. Only two cars managed it - a fully worked R33 GT-R (the green Skyline of Death) and the Subaru Rally Car.

One of the things I'd really like them to 'fix' for GT4 is this little facility. It'd make life a lot easier when you're trying to set a car up for a track without having to drop into arcade mode and use the Free Run option. Be nice too if they brought back the feature they had in GT2 where you could view all the lap times you and your opponent had run in a multi-player race.

One thing we discovered using this by the way, was that whoever ran the fastest lap almost invariably came second! We got to calling it the Wooden Spoon prize as we used to award a point for fastest lap in the championships we ran.

Well, there is no need to go to Arcade Mode. U can just go to settings on the home menu and u can try some of ur settings in Laguna Seca o Midfield, u want smooth control, go try it on Complex Settings.
