There has been a lot of hating on the Minolta lately. Why??? What's wrong with it? It's personally one of my favorite cars....

People are hating the Minolta. :scared:
Why would anyone hate it. It is a nice car.

This. I reckon its in the top 3 group C cars in terms of ease of use. I wish the Sauber C9 could sound and handle this good. TBH, hating on the Sauber C9 would be more justified.

I honeslty think its because of the stereotype of people who use it online.

There is no reason to hate the minolta outside repair costs, but even then its one of the fastest cars in the game.

It was a good car until recentley, but the latest update has made it's tire wear terrible so it's rubbish against the rest of the LMP's and Group C's.
I don't know what it's like offline but I never play offline anyways.

It gets so much hate because it indeed is a terribly quick car. Trouble is, it's easily accesible in A-Spec (Come on..."Like the Wind" isn't even a teeny tiny bit hard) which means the wider GT player base can get it. However, the wider GT player base is composed mainly (Not entirely!) of idiots that drive like dull kids, and letting them loose in online lobbies with their mediocre driving skills driving a scary fast Group C racer can only mean carnage.

It's overused and an overkill. So that's why some people hate it.

what he said^^

I think its because allot of newer players who are not in control of the vehicle or familiar with etiquette of online racing use this car and drive it badly hence there is now a stereotype. Its used by these people as its the only fast car you attain early on in A spec.

I mean, from being a rubbish car to begin with, can say the same thing about the Veyron. Not sure why that is so awesome other than the 1000HP. It drives and looks horrible.

Think its because lots of people jump into it when in high PP servers with no driving aids before they've mastered a low PP car.....the ensuing carnage of said person jamming the X button hard out of every corner resulting in smoke screens, facing oncoming traffic with button X still firmly pressed and taking people out left, right and centre is probably the main cause :banghead: :banghead:

That's why I hate the Sauber C9... and I used to love it in GT4... I can't stand how it sounds, it sounds so awful it hurts my ears... I've said it a million times here on GTP... what PD did to that car... it's a disgrace... :yuck: 👎 :scared:  :grumpy: :ouch:

PD sound team... you failed...

👎👎👎👎👎

I really like the Minolta BTW :)

I dislike the Minolta, but I don't know why? My the colours? The name? I have no idea, but if it was premium I would pay more attention to it. I don't hate it, but it's not a car I would fight over. I mean if you asked me, I lost your Benz 190 Touring car I would beg for it. If I lost my Minolta I wouldn't really pay attention to it.

This gorgeous car sounds awesome & handles magnificently. IMO, it's a gem.

Why do some hate it? Quite simply: 'Online abuse'.

Other than that, there's nothing to hate about it. 👍👍👍

I guess the main reason why people hate this car is because they don't have it in the first place. IMHO, it is a truly cracking car, looks like a sleek power monster, goes like lightning, takes the bends like glue and best of all, it has "COCKPIT" written outside the driver cabin:sly:, that's something that anybody would like :).

I used it do death in GT4, I thought I owed it a return showing in GT5, it certainly didnt let me down. It can be tuned to the max, and can win all races.

I like the Minolta a lot. No hate here. Sadly its among the cars that PD just didn't care about, or get to in regards sound. The Toyota GT1, the Judd's is another horrible sounding car as well as that neutered V8 sound of the Vette's:yuck::yuck::yuck:

Honestly its been a while since I heard these cars and I cant remember fully how the GT1 or the Judd's sounded in real life but I don't remember hating the sounds like I do in GT5. I cant even play with them for long because of it. Does this make me an exhaust note elitist? lol

I like it. I like all of the C cars. They're crazy powerful, especially for being so old. I wish we had a series like that now. Too dangerous though...

Just a quick heads up because I think some people still don't realise this, the car isn't called the "Minolta", it's the Toyota 88c-v and Minolta was the sponsor (they make cameras, there were other sponsors on this car too)

It's just kinda funny how it's the only car where everyone calls it by the name of the sponsor only. It just so happens Minolta also sounds like a cool car name :)

I don't even bother calling it that anymore. I always used to say "who has a toyota 88cv" only to get responded by "don't you mean AE86?" but as soon as I say minolta every body knows what I'm talking about
