Why hate on the Minolta?

Yeah makes sense to call it that I guess, but I still think some people don't realise it's not the name of the car

Although that might have something to do with PD naming it the "Minolta 88c-v", whereas following most of the other cars the format is usually "88c-v Minolta"

The 88C-V (Minolta) is one of the fastest cars in my garage right now and it is an absolute blast to drive at Le Mans. I can see why people hate it online though, since it's easily obtainable and crazy fast. It is overused IMHO.

Really, I'm one of the few that actually like the Nissan R92CP over the Toyota 88C-V. It was my high-speed rocket in Gran Turismo 4, and I'd like to have it for GT5 as well. In no way do I hate the 88C-V. That is a heck of a car to have in your garage.

It's just kinda funny how it's the only car where everyone calls it by the name of the sponsor only. It just so happens Minolta also sounds like a cool car name

I call it Minolta because almost no one refers to it as the Minolta 88C-V Race car, so it doesn't sound right to some people I am guessing.

That's why I hate the Sauber C9... and I used to love it in GT4... I can't stand how it sounds, it sounds so awful it hurts my ears... I've said it a million times here on GTP... what PD did to that car... it's a disgrace... 👎

I know, there just isn't enough choice in this game.

I don't hate it, but ive just driven it way too much, after i won it, the only race car i could afford back then, probably my 2nd all time winning car behind the enzo. And thats probably why so many people hate it, its overused, ive heard once on GTP the term "crapolta".

I honeslty think its because of the stereotype of people who use it online.

There is no reason to hate the minolta outside repair costs, but even then its one of the fastest cars in the game.

"Repair costs" are the same for every car with a 1 million+ price-tag.

Although I have all the LMP's/Group C's, i still often use the Minolta for online races because its fun to drive, handles well, and has bags of torque

It's free, everyone has it, though the only ones using it are the newbies.
That's the reason I hate it.

I don't hate the car, but I don't see whats so great about it. Its fast, but not THAT fast. The best thing about it for me is that its my fastest drifting car.

Haven't used it outside grinding early in my Gt5 career.

I do recall it was a blast to drive. However after some thought. Don't think I ever used it with a wheel. It's been so long I was using sticks then.

Hate for this car would boggle the mind but hate for an idiot/idiots driving it I'd understand. The car almost too good. I haven't driven it in months as there's no challenge. Taming wild cars is much moe fun.

Back in GT4 I used the Minolta to win Nurb 24H and get my F1 car. It is by far one of the best cars in the game.
