Why do some people use heel and toe in this game?...

The game seems to match the revs automatically when downshifting?, I dont get it, Why do they do it?...

(And if any mod is reading this, I think you will have noticed a vast improvment in my grammer and spelling and punctuation...I hope your happy)...
 
When clutch is enabled the game doesn't automatically rev match (in GT5P as the GT5 TT demo doesnt have clutch support).
 
That's what Jay was saying, GT5:P has clutch support but the GT5 TT demo doesn't.
 
I'd kill my ankles if I used the heal and toe method every time I played GT. When real racing drivers use the heal and toe method, you must remember that they have a specially designed racing seat and racing shoes for the job, not some undersized plastic pedals and an old couch.

The shape/size of the pedals and their layout is by far the most important thing. I have modified the pedals in my last couple of cars to make it easier to do and have no trouble with normal shoes or trainers.

Before you post here, try typing your post into MS Word with spell check turned on. Your spelling and grammar are still not too flash.

No one should be heel and toeing in this GT5 TT.

In Prologue, racing in some cars it was required if using manual mode with clutch activated. Elise's around the final turns at Fuji anyone? :D
 
Yes - in GT5p it was kinda necessary (although not so much because the physics weren't as good as they should/could've been). In TT, no its not necessary but its such a habit now that I'll do it anyway. I do it in almost every other racing game I play and I do it when I drive in real life out of "mechanical sympathy" (eg its much less load on the clutch, keeps the car balanced entering the corner etc etc)...
 
In GT5 Prolouge, If your playing with the clutch activated, heel toe makes such a big difference in my lap times. About three seconds in cases. If you don't heel toe, the engine braking stops the tires enough to send the car skidding and rear end to whip out. You'd be surprised, it is pretty real.
 
Wouldn't it be funny when in the final game people use heel and toe on the 370Z when in real life people wouldn't do that ever? I wonder how accurate will be PD. Also it would be immensly realistic if on natural automatic transmition cars, or sequential will not be possible to use the H gate pattern.

You can turn the auto-throttle-blipping system off in the 370Z for people who want to enjoy driving techniques, so either way would be realistic.
 
Unfortunatelly with the G25 it's very hard to do it. The pedals are not placed properly for heel and toe. That's why in G27 they moved brake pedal a little forward...

This is why I made my own pedal blocks (G25) for brake and clutch which is pretty much what the G27 has. I always heel-toe before I made the blocks but it is easier with them.

I´ve saw some mods that fix that... anyway, switching the brake and accelerator pedals... should fix.

Although I instinctively H&T in everyday driving I find it tricky to do consistently in GT5P as the brake pedal on the G25 is just too soft... it's doable, but it's very hard to get exactly the right amount of braking whilst you're managing the throttle blip... as in real life, H&Ting is much easier with a solid brake pedal to lean against.
 
You can do the heel toe action with the controller too. what I do is use the middle part of my thumb (the middle joint where it bends) to use accelerator, and the top part of my thumb to brake. So while braking I can use the middle joint in my thumb to blip the accelerator button, witch results in a heel toe style action. Might take some practice but it works 100% fine.

I used to be a pro at heel/toe when I was driving a manual car in real life but probably lost touch now since been driving an auto for a year.
 
I use heel and toe in real life but not in GT, the brake pedal travels too far. I heard some people put rubber blocks into the brake pedal to give it a more solid feeling with less travel, but I don't know if it would work in GT. Has anyone tried it?

What you're doing is more akin to left foot braking than heel/toeing... you can't rev match unless you're using the clutch as in GT5P the gas is cut on down changes.

There is a mod you can buy for the G25 that creates more brake pressure, but I was told it's only suitable if you have a very sturdy rig.

Do a search on e-bay.
 
I also heal and toe in GT5p and GT5TT just out of habbit but to tell you the truth, I've never thought GT5p had much of an effect on whether you heal and toe or not. I never really noticed any engine braking etc

I have a sturdy rig made from old school tables cut and welded together:) But I was wondering if it works on GT with no calibration settings?

Yes, I did and it works great. I've seen some guy selling an eraser that cost .99 cents and sells it on ebay as a mod for the brakes for $10 -20 something dollars. :sly:
