I don't know if anyone had asked this question before, It seems like a trivial question, but I just noticed it and can't help but wonder why did PD opt to have only men on the crowds cheering during races and photomode? or am I just mistaken?

Well of course with the exception of this one:

Bern - Market Street by Winstonlights, on Flickr

please do share your opinion and insights :)

Yeah a few hot chicks in little skirts would always be welcome, but then again they might distract my bob and end up crashing LOL

Lol!!! PD could have at least put some umbrella chicks at the starting grid at the start of the race :dopey:

Yeah hot ladys in not much clothing and motor racing have gone together for years, come on pd let's get some babes in the crowds lol

Because, I think in reality women are the vast minority of racing spectators. And showing women in anything but a respectable way could be offensive.

lol in all seriousness, would it be because this game is rated "E" for Everyone? And in this class of rating, you cannot have any potential sexually-explicit content (ie. women with little clothing, hence we see a fully-dressed women talking on the cellphone in OP's post)

Had this been rated "T" for Teens or "R" for Restricted, it could be very different :sly:

Karma Cowboy
There are no chicks (I guess) so that the game can be sold in the arab countrys
I shouldn't laugh because that's incredibly racist but I just couldn't help myself, classic! :D

How are fully dressed women in the crowd any more "sexually-explicit" than fully dressed men in the crowd? Plenty of E rated games have female characters in them. And plenty of T rated games have female characters in them where the T rating was not given for sexual content.

I haven't seen a race in the States but here in Finland / Europe there are quite a lot of women as spectators in all sports, including car races / rally. And I find it reaaaally weird that we're not having any in this game!

And why it always has to be mini skirts :P Not that I wouldn't like that but it could be just normal people, families and stuff. It's just a little thing but could've been done right...

I can't believe how sexist are some people around the world.

Also, this comment is almost unbelievable for a person in the year of 2011:

"Women in a video game should lift the rating system"

oze

^^I agree, just to add to the OP, from what I have observed from playing the game, the crowds during races are predominantly men and I have yet to spot a female in the crowd. Still I can be wrong, I need to explore more the crowds in the tracks. Same thing in photomode, this is where it got to my attention at first, try to look at Siena - Piazza del Campo photo location.

See, now we have a legit reason to hack out of the course boundaries! :sly:

This thread turned to cack very quickly :(

I laughed at "because in real life they don't watch much motorsport" (or words to that effect).

Nutjobs.

I think there should be naked women in the grandstands, and a water sprinkler above to keep them cool in the hot sun.

Lol i don't know.. just throwing it out there, because some have complained women in GT5 wear too much clothes.

But hey at least my respone was somewhat legit... I mean look at what the rest of them are saying
