Why is the Bugatti Veyron a "Standard" car for its price?

Maybe this was once posted but did a search and came up nothing. Yes, been looking for a thread here...

The Bugatti Veyron is a very expensive car in real life about 1.2 to 1.5 million dollars and in GT5 it cost $2 million. Did Bugatti or the Volkswagen Group underpaid PD that they made it "standard"? or i just did not know that it will become "Premium"...
 
I don't think the actual price of the car determines whether or not it is offered as a Premium version.

Plenty of other examples of Standards that cost much more than the Veyron.
 
There are a lot of really good driving standard models. I use a lot of them. Being "standard" has no bearing on how much they cost or how good they are. It's just how good or bad they look. The Veyron model doesn't look nearly as bad as the majority. There are other standard cars that cost much more than the Veyron.

I'd also like to add an unsolicited opinion... I think GT5 has the standard models as a fairwell to them. I don't think GT6 will have them. I think it's cool that they've included so many from the previous titles, no matter how bad they look or what they cost.👍
 
I hope next DLC will have the Bugatti. Standard to premium, just like what pd did with the Jag

That part of your sentense made me cry, not real cry but sad. :( That was nice to read, and I think it's great that PD did the best they can to improve the standard cars. :)

I know that car standard too and there are more, but this about my Veyron question.

So to continue, it is then PD's judgement of who then will become Standard or a Premium car.

thats a pretty stupid question, it takes a lot of work to model a car to the standard of premium, and to be honest there were a lot more cars that were more important to model (xj-13, ford mkiv, 330p4, 787b, that alfa - all the classics more special and alot better drive)

also the pricing isnt at all relative to real life, its just an apropriate figure. some cars are wrorth more than 20 mil in real life - theyre priceless classics (a few of senna's cars and others im sure)

I know what you mean. When I first thought that, I remembered all the fun times on GT1 - GT4. Makes me wonder which cars we'll never see again.:nervous:
 
You do understand that even after all of the legal stuff has been dealt with, it can't be easy for even for PD to acquire a Bugatti Veyron for modelling.

That's what I fear aswell. I don't want the ASL Garaiya gone. :( I love that car and the other cars that are rare and fun to drive. :nervous:

Same here! I love the querky cars from over the years. GTR Pace Car, 2J, 2D, Bentley, etc. The list goes on! I know they won't do new models for all the cars. Let's just hope they leave out all the overdone models and leave in the rares, racers, tuners, and querky cars! That would be acceptable to me. :)

Kaz has said that they don't get to choose any specific car and that it'll help if people let the car manufacturers know specifically what car we want in GT.

It boggles me as to how the Veyron could be a standard as they obviously got a hold of the car to model and replicate.

The question only mentions the curiosity of why the standard Veyron is more expensive than it is for people in real life and there have been given good answers to that already.
 
I just saw a Chaparral 2J in the used car dealership for $14 million... the 2J is a standard model. Clearly the designers did not let price determine whether a car is standard or premium. To answer the OP's question, I don't really know why the Veyron is not a premium model. Clearly it is a special car so I really can't speak to PD's criterion for creating any particular car as a standard or premium model.

Gosh I hope that the premium models don't all carry over to GT6. There is a lot of garbage in the new car dealerships... just my opinion.

Yes, it just has to be absolutely awful for PD to get their hands on a Veyron, even though they got their hands on Ferrari Formula cars, the 787B, the Jaguar XJR, the other Le Mans Jaguar... (of which there is only one of each, there is more than one Veyron) :rolleyes:
 
wonder if they're going to model the new Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse that was just announced, possibly faster than the Super Sport?

PD and VW group seem to have good relationship, since GT5 has 3 new VW models thanks to DLC... Hopefully, a Premium Veyron will come sooner rather than later... :)

I'm a McLaren fan too, but calling a piece of technology as advanced as the Veyron pathetic because it knocked the F1 off it's perch is a good way to start a flame war. We have to face the fact that Bugatti raised the bar well beyond what was done before. Granted they needed 16 cylinders and quad turbocharges to do it, but they did achieve their goal.

As for the question in the OP, I'm sure it'll be premium by the time GT6 comes around and was probably excluded due to time constraints rather then PD deliberately skipping it.

Hell, it even took Top Gear a long time to get a Veyron to go around their test track.

Everyone can get a car to reach a certain speed, by adding an excessive amount of power to it. And I do honestly think this is the reason for PD not making it premium. It simply hasn't done anything to deserve premium treatment. Hence why they focus on other, more important cars, in their DLC's.
 
Why is the Veyron only a Standard model?

Either they modeled it when they hadn't started doing the Premium models yet, so it was done to old game specs, or they only had limited access to it, and therefore couldn't model the interior and other details.

For the PSP-version, the model was good enough, and it was one of the showcases, so they probably made it quickly rather than not doing it at all, because they needed at least some new cars for PSP.

Nothing mysterious about it.

As much as many people b**ch and moan about the Veyron's handling, I think it's astonishing how many at the same time complain about the fact it's a Standard car.
 
There's a lot more expensive cars than the Bugatti Bathtub that aren't premium and the models aren't as good either. All still drive properly though.
 
It's only 2mil.
GT40 is 19mil.
problem?

The reason it's standard is because GT PSP was released before GT5 and they didn't want to remake the car model at that time.
Though I doubt it will be premium this year unless they REALLY felt like doing a re-modelling of a fridge on wheels.

i'm not a big fan of it either but you have to give credit where credit is due, fastest production car in the world.
 
pesronally if it were me guys, and i worked for pd modelling cars, i would much rather spend my time working away at some of the most beutiful cars the world has seen, than work on the most vulgar and unemotional car that ever set my eyes upon. cars have a soul, and the veyrons i would associate with madona - a complete dick who thinks theyr mr everyone and is the best thing that happened to life ever.
