I have searched, but probably used the wrong terms, as I haven`t found the answer.

Why does no-one like the x1 online?

I`ve just been in a `fun race, any car allowed` room, checked the hp limits & detuned the x1 to it`s minimum, so it just crept in.

track changed to the ssr4 I think (wuith the 2 tunnels), got neck & neck with the leader (the host) in a gtr, both going flat out through the first tunnel & he suddenly shoves me into the wall & then everyone else piles into me!

It was a good, close, clean race up to then, then it all went tits up, because I inched ahead of the host & he didn`t like it.

got a message after the race saying "you know why I rammed you, don`t you?"

So, why, when it`s de-tuned & a close race, is the x1 so hated online?

Because it will destroy the competition, and it has a reputation of being used by rammers.

Well, I am sure they don't really hate it. More like they hate it when people bring it to a lobby and think they are amazing at the game just because they beat everyone by a lap with it.

Like I say, mine was detuned & was pretty much even with the hosts gtr, had been beside eachother for pretty much the entire tunnel, then he shoives me in the wall. :(

so it`s basically an unwritten rule that the x1 is banned from online.

No. You just have to know when to use it. In races isn't a good place, but in free runs its usually OK.

Yes my friend, its a ridiculous car that should have no place in a game like gt5 anyway. Online (unless its an x1 only race) its a total menace driven by noobs

Open your own lounge for X1 only. :)

Behavior by the host in the case you mentioned was ridiculous. He should have either banned the X1 outright up front, or allowed it.

I think it's a shame that so many noobs ruined it for the rest of us.

I love the car but it's not wise to bust it out unless everyone else is.

I made a track specifically designed for these cars & I've had great feedback & all I've met agree that on the right track it's an amazing machine but in the wrong track it's a absolute 🤬 and in the wrong hands it's even worse!

I only drive it when I'm intoxicated...I get quite a rush from driving that fast while plastered..but driving a Gallardo or something ordinarily fast afterwards feels quite pedestrian.

Even a detuned X1 is going to be able to destroy a fully tuned GTR, simply because of the cornering ability. I hate the X1, there is no joy driving it, it simply exists for my bspec guys, and as others have mentioned, I have never witnessed a person driving one online who wasn't ramming everything in sight.

It's not the car, it's the idiots who think it's cool to use it online. 👎

Which is the exact reason I detuned it, as it was described as "any car, fun races" in the room list.

He didn`t even complain when it arrived in the free run before the race, then he realised it wasn`t a `normal noob` x1 & spat the dummy.

Its very fun to drive once you get the hang of it. People only hate it because everyone who uses it online is in some way, shape or form a troll and messes up everyone else.

Because you have little kids who uses it to ram people and in a drag racing room you have people who thinks its fun to race a x1 against street cars. That's why I was a little mad when PD decided to give every one a x1.

Even if you take an X1 down to to same HP as a GT-R (even a GT500)
you are less than half of the weight and 3x more down force. I would have shoved you into a wall as well:)

They have no place online unless it's a free run or everyone is driving them.

There is no way to balance that car to compete on an even playing field. I mean it has a second engine to keep low speed downforce and weighs nothing. In my opinion a better question would be: Why would anyone use this car in an online race? Again my opinion, but learning to drive that car would throw me off for everything else in my garage.

I ran mine at Spa in a free run room when the track first came out and managed to miss everyone, despite hammering it, so it's possible. Doesn't matter what you do to it though, it's never going to be a fair fight against 'normal' cars, unless the driver is a total GT virgin, in which case they won't be able to help hitting everyone.

Whatever I think of the car, I don't really agree with the 'no place in this game' crowd - it's got more right to be in it than the Schwimmwagen, for starters!

From a point of technological advancements, the X1 is amazing. But the 10 year olds on GT5 see it as a 1700HP battering ram which why it is known as a "Troll Car".

Schwimmwagen, a real vehicle driven by people, which played a role in one of the largest conflicts in human history.

X1 - a fictional "car" that runs on magic.

I'd rather have more WWII vehicles than more X1s

If you have ever played TDU2, it's the same reason everyone hates the Veyron in that... only kids drive them cause 'they're fast and look cool' and since there's a lot of immature pre teens driving them, there's always going to be a crash. I've been in a lot of awesome lobbies ruined by X2010's. They should be kept offline where they can't bother any drivers.

At the least, they should be afforded the same status as the Ferrari F1 cars, and left to race only amongst themselves where it is completely fair.

Personally I think the 🤬 drivers using them the wrong way should be consigned to offline...

Perhaps a license system where you can only take it online after getting said license.

It's the untrained fools using them that is the problem not the car itself.

Because it's a bunk car that can not and will not ever exist in real life. It also is ridiculously cheap to drive against any other car except another X1. Your either going to be laughed at or punted when driving. Avoid competing in it unless it's X1 only.
It's a joker's Troll Car
If you don't understand why, then don't sweat it, just keep Joking around.

runs on magic.

Just to let you know, magic doesn't exist.

And Schwimmwagens didn't race.

Some people dislike the X1 because they don't know enough to consider it anything other than a complete fantasy, and because for whatever reason, they don't think that bad drivers can be bad drivers unless driving the X1.

If someone has a free run room open with a title like "All cars, no X1" I just avoid it. If someone has a problem with a harmless car, I just find a room with a more reasonable host.

This

If everyone in the room is running road cars, bring out a road car. It annoys the hell out of me when everyone's in (for example) Evo's, GTR's, Impreza's etc then someone pulls out an X1 and thinks they're "the shizzle" because they're in the lead all the time. I find the same thing with the Veyron, although it can be rendered almost useless if you drop the PP level below 610.

I generally run my room with the tag "noF1/X1/LMP" clearly stated in the room name. If people can't be bothered to read that and then pull out in something clearly stated as a "no no" car, I can't be bothered to warn them, they're kicked straight away.
Harsh, maybe, but fair to everyone else who has adhered to the rules of engagement.
