Same thing as Joe here guys. I would really like some more friends who race X1's and race them fast. If anyone chooses to add me please say why.

look at there transmission settings if its still set to auto after the games been out this long kick em out ,my game my choice who i race with

Who cares if you run with auto or manual?

I have never gotten kicked out of a lobby because of my transmission choice. I personally think kicking someone out of a room because they run auto is pretty lame in my honest opinion.

+1 👍
Running an automatic gearbox shows nothing about your skill level, its just how you choose to race. Simple.

Unless your racing in life. Where not knowing how to shift in a real car will have quite detrimental consequences.

In real life racing, yea for sure I 100% agree with you there.

I tell you what though, in everyday life an autobox is SOOO convenient when you have to drive in rush hour traffic a good 2hrs at a time like I do. I imagine driving in that with a manual would be terrible.

I`m sorry to see that people discriminate against others solely on the basis that they don`t use MT, so are automatically classed as `noobs`, without even considering that there maybe a very valid reason why AT is being used, other than being a `noob`.

I have a childhood hand injury/deformity dating back over 30 years, which means that apart from having to rest my right hand after 20-30 mins of gameplay, I physically cannot set up a comfortable button layout to use manual gears with a ds3.

I am also not in a position to aquire a wheel, although I am also loath to, after reading about how ferocious the FFB can be in certain circumstances, if I can only manage 20-30 mins of mild ds3 rumble before severe discomfort sets in, I very much doubt that using a wheel which requires a tighter grip will be of any benefit to me whatsoever.

I have played pretty much every driving game since the release of PS1, including every installment of GT, so I am not a `noob`, ask anyone I`ve ever raced online, the point is, that it is just physically impossible for me to use manual gears & I`m sorry that you feel that I am `sub-standard` becasue of it.

automatic is noticeably slower than MT, why bother? i can't stand not having complete control over the car.

I have searched, but probably used the wrong terms, as I haven`t found the answer.

Why does no-one like the x1 online?

I`ve just been in a `fun race, any car allowed` room, checked the hp limits & detuned the x1 to it`s minimum, so it just crept in.

track changed to the ssr4 I think (wuith the 2 tunnels), got neck & neck with the leader (the host) in a gtr, both going flat out through the first tunnel & he suddenly shoves me into the wall & then everyone else piles into me!

It was a good, close, clean race up to then, then it all went tits up, because I inched ahead of the host & he didn`t like it.

got a message after the race saying "you know why I rammed you, don`t you?"

So, why, when it`s de-tuned & a close race, is the x1 so hated online?

you can find rooms specifically for x1 and those are pretty fun. hard but fun. and people hate them because nothing can beat them. it takes the fun out of racing.

i use automatic on endurance races. or anything over 15 -20 laps (depends on track) and i have been playing gran turismo since the first demo for ps1 came out. and it shows nothing for my skill level with or with out and automatic trans or wheel for that matter as well.

its not so bad. you get used to it after awhile lol

the number one reason they're hated is because over 95% of the people that bring them out don't know how to drive them, thanks to Kaz and that free gift. they should've been restricted to prize cars only for the redbull challenge, non tradeable.

Really the car is flat out unfair in every way to race anything but x1's I don't understand why anyone wants to drive them online but I hate that they jus gave them away I grinded for days to go buy my x2010 before the 6mil bspec I did the 500k aspec ferrari 40 times for that car and now I got 4 for nothing

I hate the X1 and don't care to drive it, but anybody who would ruin a good race in the way you described is a complete tool and deserves to be trolled. The polite way to handle that situation would have been to request that you not use that car before the race, or ask after the race.

so it`s basically an unwritten rule that the x1 is banned from online.

Yeah, and thanks glad for it, usually only a 'special part of the society', brings these cars omnline, because they think they are though with them...

What is more special, is that the people who actually bring the X1 online, most of the time cant even play it by its potential -> they cant drive the thing...

My opninion on the matter is when you can get legally golds on the Vettel challenge, you may bring the stupid thing online, else your banned from it!
(this above leaves 0 of these things online hahaha!)

So THIS ^

99% of palyers dont have a clue how to controle it, and becouse of that, they keep bumping in to the other players, but thats only 99%. Plus it's to ARCADE to take any joy from driving it, but that's only my opinion..
regards

I used mine for the first time online last night in an x1 only room at route x, was a good race but felt more like wipout than gt5 as it was that fast. Daft car that should have no place in a game like gt5.

I hate it because it is a unrealistic fantasy car that just reminds me how bad and detached from realism gt5s simulation really is, if they think the x1 can behave like it does.

I dont mind it existing in gt5 the way it is but only if it was potrayed as a cheat/secret or comical car just for the fun if it
Not make it a star attraction of a game thats meant to stand for true to life simulation.

You can't detune the X2010 enough to match any car. It's just too good in corners, and weighs absolutely nothing.

IMO, only use it online in free runs or X only servers. I don't really find it much fun to drive anyway. Try drive the thing on Nurburgring Type-V for 4 or 24 hours... No thanks. I'd rather drive a GTR or something, much more pleasant. Even the FGT is much nicer to drive.

Edit: To all you who say the car is unrealistic, it's not. Sure, it doesn't exist (asides from the quasi prototype PD/RB made), but that doesn't mean it couldn't. The technology is there to build a car that light and powerful, no doubt at all. Handling too good you think? Well, I've used a vacuum clamp on a CNC surface grinder. In other words, the piece of material is held there by a vacuum and nothing else, while material is ground away from the surface, and it's accurate enough (i.e. doesn't move) to hold a tolerance of .0001" easily. Now upscale that from a small piece of metal to the underside of a small car, and you get an idea of the forces involved.

The very light weight, low CoG, downforce (both from the extraction fans and fairings) would easily provide that level of performance.

Acceleration? Double the power of a formula one car and knock 100 kilos off it. Yeah, it's going to go quick.

If you think the amount of downforce applied is ridiculous, then consider this:

At a speed of 160 km/h a formula one car will produce more downforce from it's body fairings than the entire ~750 kilograms of driver and vehicle. In other words, at any speed above that, it could drive upside down, on a ceiling, without falling to the ground.

Now of course, some of you are going to use the logic of "lol if it could exist it would be made i mean umm duhhh newbbbbb11!". It doesn't exist because of rules. The rules are there to make the sport safe(r). A formula one car will pull 3.5 g's through a corner, making your 5.7 kilo head pull laterally to your neck and spine with a force of 196 newtons. Not to mention that it's hard to even breathe under such forces.

Then upscale that to the 7-8 g's that this monster would produce. Now you're looking at 446 newtons of force on your neck. The best way to equate this is to imagine lying sideways on your bed. With a 40 kilo weight attached to your head. Well into fighter jet territory.

Of course there's other issues... But who could drive it? How many of you here can say you've never had a serious crash with an X2010, even once you're used to it? How many safety features; airbags, crumple zones, cockpit shielding etc. can you really afford to install in a car that weighs 550 kilograms? Of course that's a null point- hit a wall at 450 kilometers an hour and you're deader than dead.

Naysay all you want-feel free to hate the thing. But it's no overpowered fantasy car, it is what it is. The limits of what can be built when you throw a safety and budget minded rulebook out the window.

Ran X2010 vs F2007 on Spa the other night. Room set to 890 pp and detuned a new x2010 to fit. Wasn't even close. X2010 is still 15 plus seconds quicker per lap- I think it was.

The car has a bad rap because and I'm just spitballing here, most people probably got theirs from trading before the cap was put into effect. That and I have yet to see anyone other than people I race with on a regular basis be able to handle the car around any track...

Well the X1 is hard to drive and specially in online races where the bandwidth of servers has devil of a time just keepin up. it lags the lobby. and most of all is driven by the most inexperienced drivers (atleast on my server) its a great car for funin round in but no one takes a X1 out into online lobby to race unless they cant tune the other cars in their garage and thats the best car they got. immediate speed. In my lobby the RedBull is banned for life cuz it destroys the rhythm of real competition. Ilearned not to trust new faces who "blu up to start a race till the last minute cuz it surely means he/she may be pullin out a RedBull or a veyron, and me and the rest of my friends and cronies r racin classic muscle and equal cars at daytona. i have no prob leavin race to boot that driver though. it matters not if its detuned. it will still have the best power to weight performance ratio of any car on track. if other peeps r in a room racin vettes enzos ciens ford GTs etc then y u need a RedBull?

Know one whos been playin this game for more than 6 mos should have any question bout y redBull is not invited to many online lobbies. the typical 12-15 yr old loves that car. The older players who cant tune love that car. but dont be surprised if u go to a lobby regardless of the restrictions, that if u pull out the RedBull and everyone else is in another type of car that host kicks u out.

Open your own lounge for X1 only. :)

Behavior by the host in the case you mentioned was ridiculous. He should have either banned the X1 outright up front, or allowed it.
the hosts reaction may have been questionable, however the player coming into lounge should have been considerate too and not ued the X1 if no one else was using the X1. it goes both ways.

I only drive the x1 in x1 only rooms. I find the other cars too slow after driving it , so I stopped using other cars.

I think some people don't like it because they are jealous they don't have one.

I've tried to make redbull only rooms but always get some T w a t in a FGT join and bitch about how the x1 is too fast.

True

Answer: it is hated because many people who are terrible drivers win every online lobby race by blowing by the competition in an X1 and crashing people out in the process. :)

X1s belong in Pro X1 rooms where everything else gets a swift kick out.
