Why kick X1's?!?

just touch someone you get t'evil eyes.

No kidding. I recall doing X1 practice laps on the Ring with other cars driving about, mostly highly tuned road cars. I went out of my way to slow down and wait for cars ahead of me to move out of the way, but sometimes they'd just keep driving without a care in the world. In that case, I'd just wait for a straight and go around then. If even the air from my X1 brushed against their car, they'd go crazy.

Even better, if they lost it in a turn, or anywhere, they instantly knew why. It was the 1600 hp car that was no where near them, crawling around the track and patiently waiting for them to move over. Luckily though I've also found rooms that are very opposite.

I can't stand people racing those things against anything else.
It can be good fun. One of the good rooms I mentioned was a free run room on Trial Mountain. When I took out the X1, the others in the room challenged me to a race. It was 4 laps. I'd have to wait at the start line for 2 of them. It was an interesting race.

Maybe if they don't really fit with whatever everyone else is driving. Or maybe theres a PP or HP limit. They usually get kicked though because the people cannot drive them, and they ram into racers.

Still no excuse to ignore them. I have no problems fitting in a proper title, including the words STAY OUT when I'm testing and people still ignore it. :dunce:

If you're only testing and you don't want anyone to join, why create a public lobby at all? That makes no sense to me... Isn't that what in-game 'practice' is for? And if you only want a small circle of your friends to join, why not use your private lounge?

Most of the time it's because people simply can't drive them. However back last year some time I found a couple of guys that were really quick. Me and them two raced all night in that room. People kept joining. Crashing. Then leaving again. The three of us just racing really fast laps around a few different circuits. Probably one of the best times I've had on GT5. Most certainly the best time I've had in a random lobby.

It's hard to be good with them.

First up, the car is called an X2010. Not X1. The game has been out long enough now for people to get a grasp of such a basic thing as the games most contraversial vehicles name.

Here's a good example of why people hate the X2010. A while back i was in a room where the host didn't put a restriction on PP or weight or BHP, we just all agreed on what types of vehicle we would use and every race we had was fantastic. Good close racing with a relaxed atmosphere. We then changed to the Nurburgring 24 layout and a new guy joined. With just a few seconds to go on the timer before thge race started he jumped in with his X2010 while we were all using cars such as RX7 TC's, FTO super tourers etc. Our race was finished little more than halfway through our lap because the X2010 crossed the line and it timed out meaning we couldn't even finish our race. That's why people hate them!!!

No, they're called X1's because there is three different kinds, but all pretty much the same. There's the X2010, non-DLC get to level 40 and buy it for 20million credits, there's the X2010 S. Vettel one, non-DLC, get to level 35 B-Spec or win the Vettel X1 Challenges in Special Events and also the X2011 which is only DLC, and can be bought at level 40 for 20million credits, if you fancied having more than one, even though you can't get different colours on that one.

So they're called X1's because it doesn't matter which one they're all pretty identical, whether it's the 2010 or 2011 model, it's easier to just clump them all together.

There are subtle differences between the x2010 and x2011 such as body work and power.

Yes subtle = pretty much the same as each other.

I know the X2011 is 1600bhp or so and the X2010 is like 1500bhp or so. The X2011 has black carbon fibre body, the X2010 can come in different colours etc. as well as the Red Bull livery. I was just stating that there is very little differences between them, and I don't know if they handle differently even. Probably handle the exact same.

The body work I was referring to was a slighly different shape but I see your point.

I always kick X1's because most of the drivers always ram everyone

Have you not read the rest of this thread and seen how generalised your comment really is. Only bad drivers ram everyone in their X1's - they would probably do it in a normal car anyway. So I'm just pointing out that not everyone
always ram everyone

This is an X1:

This is an X2010:

Now I dont know about you guys, but that body work isnt even remotely similar...

As for why they get kicked, because 90% of the time, people who use them do nothing but ram others. In order to keep the lobbies clean, they get kicked.

Lol you guys above defining a X1 do realize the X2010 is referred to as the X1 right? No point in correcting them about that other car being a true X1....

But anyway yes the reason is pretty much "noobs" use them and ram people or think they are the fastest people in the game while driving them. It really does get old and gets old quick. They are overrated cars that are just annoying at times. But do I want them in GT6? The answer is yes

This is an X1 and is not in GT5 so point is moot:

Now I dont know about you guys, but that body work isnt even remotely similar... but the first one is not in the game, so why does this even relate, we were talking about the differences between the Red Bull cars as they're also referred to and not the BMW

Just added a few extra bits.

Exactly. The X1, the first one, is not in the game. As for the Fiat 500 ramming, yes. Yes I would kick them. Its just more common, I think, for people to ram using an X2010/11, thus why they get kicked.

I insta kick X1s and always will do. Wanna do laps in your X1? make your own room.

Such hostility thats like shooting people on motorbikes just in case they will start trouble.

What if they pull on track in a Minolta?

Anyway, install the game without updates and you will see the X2010 was originally called X1.

Exactly, it's completely narrow-minded and unnecessary.

What if they pull on track in a Minolta?

Or any high powered car - maybe a maxed out Veyron. People will still complain if you pick any over-powered car when everyone else is using "street" cars.

Anyway, install the game without updates and you will see the X2010 was originally called X1.

Thanks for clearing this up, I knew there was some reason why everyone just called them X1's.

Yes, they were called X1's originally. But my point relates to the fact that they were called X1's for a month or so maximum before PD updated it to X2010. The fact that we are nearly in 2013 and the car in question is called an X2010 suggests just how long people have had to get used to the name.

I thought it they were X1s for a lot more than a month (particularly since I thought they were X1s for quite a while after I got the game and I didn't get for at least 2 months), but maybe not. I still always tend to think of them as X1s myself automatically and have to correct myself... it just seems to be a much more natural sounding name for some reason.

Yes, X1 is much easier to say and use when referencing all 4 models instead of saying " Adrian Newey designed, Chaparral inspired, Red Bull race car"

Here is one of the original videos. Make sure to read the first screen and listen in at the 1:07 mark. :)

Red Bull? Same amount of syllables as X1.

And that Video was before the name got changed. Your point?

Or you just get X1 drivers who want to race.

Out of curiosity, have you ever done what you've said? Made a bunch of X1 rooms, ran races, and then counted how many were good or bad? Or are you just guessing?

Yes I have.Almost all of my racing is done in private lounges, same guys I've raced with since this game came out.We are all good drivers and tuners who share set-ups and there is never any issues with having to babysit as the host. Most open lobbies have at least 1 or 2 people who wreck the enjoyment of the game and it just turns into a kick and wreck room.

From what I've heard, and this is mostly hearsay, online and offline races are SLIGHTLY different. Many tuners test cars both online and offline and have separate tunes for each. I haven't done extensive tuning to compare the two; I'm going by what I see in some of the tuning threads. It's possible that this is old news...it may have been fixed in a patch or update.

But when I test a car online, it is in the Free Run lobby and I only allow the very minimum amount of drivers allowed to join to keep problems from happening.

This is not an X1 or X2010 nor is it a X2011, but it is Red Bull and unlike the BMW X1, it is in GT5.

We can call these cars X1, if we so wish because the precedence was set by PD. It is now sort of like the childhood nickname that won't go away. That is the point.

Thats a Citroen, cant confuse that with a BMW SUV can we now? X1 however, can be confused with a BMW SUV. The name of the X2010 was changed for a reason, not just for 🤬 and giggles. It had the X1 name for around a month, its had the X2010 name for nearly 2 years. And the fact that it was actually designed by Redbull, where as the Citroen wasnt, its merely sponsored by Redbull.
