Thats a Citroen, cant confuse that with a BMW SUV can we now? X1 however, can be confused with a BMW SUV. The name of the X2010 was changed for a reason, not just for 🤬 and giggles. It had the X1 name for around a month, its had the X2010 name for nearly 2 years. And the fact that it was actually designed by Redbull, where as the Citroen wasnt, its merely sponsored by Redbull.

If you tag a room Red Bull, the Citroen is one of the cars that will pop in. I've seen it happen many times. Then when they are asked to get in one of their x1s they will say " but this is a Red Bull room" Get the point yet?

The X2010/11 are not Red Bull cars either. You will find them in the Gran Turismo garage.

If you really want to play the annoying technicality card, the X1 had its name changed to X2010. The X2011 was named X2011 as soon as it was released. Technically speaking, putting X1 will also deter those who only race the X2011

We seem to have gotten quite a fair ways off topic. X2010/2011's get kicked simply because 90% of the time, the people driving them cant drive them and end up ramming everyone. Simple as that.

X1 is quicker to type down, can refer to all four X2010/X2011 models, and saves space in room title. Pretty much everybody recognizes the name 'X1'. If I had to type down seven more numbers and a slash every time I had to refer to the cars, it would be a waste of time doing something pointless. Especially if you use the onscreen keyboard operated by the controller.

X1's are kicked because no one is able to drive them without crashing into others. Instead of kicking after the damage is done, the host is proactive and kicks as soon as someone gets into that car. If you do want to drive the X1 in a public room you should ask the host if it's okay and explain that you will drive carefully. If the host says alright, you can join. If not, you can leave voluntarily and can spare yourself from being kicked.

Oddly enough, just about every aircraft is capable of destroying itself just by flying, yet this doesn't happen regularly. The same technology and techniques used in aerospace shouldn't be very hard to apply to the X1. Even existing F1 tricks like making turns so sharp, even Formula cars need to crawl around them could be used to control the X1.

In my book, the X1 is the type, or regulation of the car, while the X2010 and X2011 are different versions within that type / regulation. Just like the F2007 is an F1 car, the X2010 is an X1 car.

Yes I have.Almost all of my racing is done in private lounges,same guys I've raced with since this game came out.We are all good drivers and tuners who share set-ups and there is never any issues with having to babysit as the host.Most open lobbies have at least 1 or 2 people who wreck the enjoyment of the game and it just turns into a kick and wreck room.

Overspeed damage is a danger in commercial aviation, because the jet engines are so powerful (they need to accelerate a heavy body to takeoff speed in a short distance). The engines only go for full power during take-off. If they went full power during level flight or during climb they would overspeed and sustain damage to the fuselage.

Yes, but when there's slower traffic on the track not many thinks about slowing down. Besides, if there's a thouand guys who can drive them well there's a hundred thousand who can't. Statistics tells you that a driver in an X1 is extremely likely to cause misery to the room. That's why they are kicked. If you do have common sense and does your best to avoid accidents, explain that to the host before you enter and wait for the reply.

They take basically the same. The big different is the plane can sit on 9 g indefinitely, the pilot can't. And not all fighters are 9 g limited. Some only go as high as 4-5 g. The pilot's job is to not overstress the plane. Structural failure is only the engineer's problem when the pilot has not overstepped his bounds.

Slowing for traffic is common sense, this goes for whatever car you're driving.

I'd like to see them. If I was going just by my experience, statistics would say X1 drivers cause less problems than average.

At the very least don't just assume something about the player just because of car choice. And remember, if you're the host, you set the rules. But no one can read your mind.

In what context is the question, obviously if people are racing touring cars, road cars or some other set of parameters then yes you would kick the idiot who decides he's going to drive the x1. I've seen plenty o x1 lobby's though so just have a look and I'm sure you will find a welcoming lobby

I agree that X1s should only race against X1s. To allow such a wide gap in performance to other cars in a race is ridiculous, unrealistic and pointless. Clearly PD could make such a limitation as they already have with the Ferrari F1s.

Exactly. Besides, i prefer the sound of the name X1. It has a nicer ring to it.
As i understand it, the only reason they had to change it was for legal reasons upon discovering there is a BMW SUV called an X1.

To me, these fantasy-alien-like-cars will always be colloquially called X1s out of endearment. Personally, i think some people are getting a little petty when there are certainly much bigger fish to fry.

I'm not sure how many people realize that they changed it to X2010 from X1 when the X2011 came out! They had to change it because it's the same model just different year and they couldn't call all of them by the same name if it was denoted by year! They don't call a 2012 Maxima, that, they call it a Maxima to generalize (generally speaking)!

The reason I like to bring out my X1 though is that I often go to free run rooms with no restrictions and no warnings against redbulls. So, like any other car, I take it out to see if anyone else wants to drag or race X1's. Of course it will beat any other non-X1, but who cares? I take cars out all the time that are much too slow to actually win just because I've worked hard to collect all of them, and I'm going to drive them because I like variety.

I put in too many hours to get the orange red bull that I needed to be level 40xp to buy just to let it sit in the garage. In my opinion, any real gt5 player SHOULD drive it fairly often, it's hands down the hardest car to master in the game! Anyone who thinks it's cheap to use it is crazy, it is freakin hard to control it takes a lot of finesse to drive. To me, driving it well is about as impressive as anything in the entire series and should be highly thought of, not given this unfairly poor stigma.

I don't care if someone lines up with me if I'm in my skyline with it, it's a game it's for fun I don't care if they scorch me it's a better car no one is going to say "wow that guy must really suck at driving he got beat by an X1". That was after, the name change. I think it was changed in Nov 2010? When S.Vettle won a championship? I can't remember exactly, but it'll come back to me.

What I do remember for certain was that we got a free one from PD and it was the first of the name change. It was to celebrate something, I'm so mad I can't remember lol.
