I know that this is one of those 1% things that not many people care about, but why cant we switch on headlights in the day time? Seems like an oversight when we can toggle the lights but cant turn them on......i think all racecars look cool with them on........i do like the simple things !!

Could it be done in the previous GT's ?

Just hold down the button for high beam down.

Or glue it :dopey:

Other similiar question is: Why can't we turn off wipers when it's raining? So simple, yet we are not allowed to do it... Or turn off the lights completely at night?

I'd absolutely love greater control of the lights, I love seeing the cockpit dashboard light up after you put the lights on, and we should be allowed to control it ourselves...

This is just getting stupid. People are complaining about stupid things. 1. Why do you need headlights during the day? (Even if you want it for photomode, just hold the button). Why do you want to turn off the wipers in the rain? You guys are looking for random 🤬 just to complain about.

I agree; there are three separate controls for the lights, yet they're still ridiculously constrained.

It should be "hold" for, say, a second to toggle on/off, and "tap" for toggle high/low / flash.
Same for the wipers. Or something.

How exactly is wanting greater control over wipers and lights a "stupid" thing? I don't know what cars you drive, but in cars I drive, wipers and lights and manually controlled, and don't have a mind of their own...

And I don't think the OP is complaining, simply pointing out that in fact, many racing series' race with their lights on, so why shouldn't we be able to? This is the virtual world, what the hell is the problem?

Ok, wipers are unnecessary, but I thought it would be cool. I mean, why can we turn them on in dry, but can't turn them off in wet? :dunce:

As for the lights, I'll give you good reason - new VW Golf VI R from DLC has speedo and tacho in tubes, and sometimes no light is coming into them because of the angle, so I cannot read them. If it turns dark, interior lights up and I can read them perfectly.

Yes, now you'll tell me that I have HUD, but turning it off gives a better sensation.

What if you want to flash at night with low beams on? :D

2 buttons for lights is okay, one for flashing, other for off/side(we can turn them on in photomode and they are turning on automatically in day/night tracks)/low/high and one more for wipers.
I've even seen wipers working faster if it rains heavier and we drive at higher speed, so maybe we can have two speeds of them? Nah, I'm imagining too much :sly:

I have found another thing to complain about. Why can't we open our windows? I think my car looks much better with its windows down...

Does anyone know why only select tracks (like Nurb) force your headlights on no matter what time of day?

I hate this bug. Not only do the non-timechange versions of nüburgring look pretty bad by themselves but it looks retarded when all the cars have full beams blaring. I often look for rooms with time change versions of these tracks because the lighting looks so much natural and you can flash your headlights.

In many things I think how a thing looks is always secondary to how it performs but flashing lights is a surprisingly effective method of overtaking :D. Maybe 30% of the time if I come really close in a section that requires a lot of concentration (the section between carousel and minicarousel for example) and flash my lights the opponent will make a mistake and I gain a place. It's really fun.

The best thing about the lights controls is that they are redundant. Options for flash, toggle, or combined. But it's controlled by time of day/track. If you can flash, you can't toggle. If you can toggle, you can't flash. So why do I still have them both mapped to my wheel several months after I found that out?? Maybe it's because I have no need for a wiper button that only works when it isn't raining?

I too would like to be able to turn on my dash lights during the day as the shadows are unrealistically dark. I somewhat fixed the blacks on my other TV, I wonder if it would be better on that one, hmm...

ummm, Stay calm and breath mate.......its ok. I was only asking a question not complaining.

Not sure you watch much motor sport, but nearly half the field run with their lights on during a race, i like it.....and would like for it to be an option in GT5. Just a shame its only available at night.

For "the ultimate driving simulator" i wouldnt have thought it was a big ask. Also in the options it gives you "flashing, high and low beam", so its there to be used.

Holding down the button on the wheel doesnt exactly work unless you have rubber arms, gets a bit hard at some of the hair pins. !!

And DLR, you my friend are a comic genius........well done.

This thread is full of win

I also want to know why the windows don't fog up when it's raining out and i'm driving with the window closed and the heater on.

In the meantime i'll just concentrate on the apex, like you're supposed to in a racing game.
