A lot of significant brands were excluded though, namely Ferrari, Honda, Chevrolet, Lamborghini, and Jaguar

He raised a good point, which he was hoping someone had the answer to; and now we have one. PD couldn't be bothered making them for all the manufacturers! :P Maybe it's drawbacks such as legality issues or maybe they just didn't have time.
 
Cause PD doesn't give a damn about GM(or American vehicles). Ford is probably only in there because they revolutionized the auto industry, and everyone already knows that, so you can't just leave it out.

I had not noticed the other makes missing, since I seldom went to that area.

I guess it can be chalked up to one of the things that got left out, such as how some tracks have working pit crews where others do not.
 
People would be dumb not to want them. The only cars I've owned that are remotely reliable are Chevs. Japanese cars have been junk for me. Non stop problems.

It wasn't about reliability. It was about not spending enough on R&D for new vehicles, and keeping too much for themselves along with wasteful spending.

I've had very good reliability out of my GM vehicles. My 1996 Jeep is also a great vehicle, don't know about newer Jeeps though...

As far as imports, I've seen a civic turn 444,444 miles and it ran great. Every import I've owned though, has gone to hell (Along with any Chrysler I've ever owned...).

For the most part, it usually comes down to how it was cared for and driven.

I am a born and raised Chevy Nut. My first car was a 69 chevy c10 my second was a 92 Blazer. But, Lately I have gotten in to an affair with Nissan. 294,xxx miles on my d21 hardbody truck and the only real problem I have had is my brake pads were bad. Still starts first try every try, the only time I had to crank on it was when we had a foot of snow outside here in Il. and it still took less time than my gfs 08 focus. btw, this is a work truck and has never been garage kept or had an empty bed til I got it last april(4th owner and i know the three previous owners) and I run the hell out of it. The S10's in my area quiver in fear at the sight of my STOCK HB lol. the only mid size truck in my area that has outrun me is my best friends 98 Dakota V8

Let's also not forget the 60+ days worth of SUV stock sitting on lots while gas prices soared. My local GM plant closed because of poor decisions. I'm all for Chevy products, so long as they were produced before 1970.

John DeLorean left for many reasons, and I think he saw where things were headed.

I grew up in the seat of a 68 convertible Camaro, and a 75 convertible Vette. What I see nowadays sickens me beyond belief. I did like the new Goat, but that had to die too. Hard for me to feel sorry for a company that continually chooses to shoot themselves in the foot.

John Delorean also built a Sports car that did 88mph and was overpriced, How did he pay for it? Drug money lmao. For what its worth I think Chevy could have kept them selves afloat by not sinking a ton of money in to the zr1's r&d and ending up with a car that gets spanked by its lil brother that costs half as much on almost any track.

He paid for it by government loans, and Colin Chapman paying him twice. Just before he was busted, he gave his attorney a letter explaining the drug deal, and that he believed his daughter's life was in jeopardy. He was found not guilty. Check out the Car of the Week 7 for my review.

As for the ZR1, I think Chevy would've done better if they could infuse the same thinking into the rest of their line of cars. Chrysler and GM seem like excellent examples of companies run by accountants.
 
^ which Govt. bc the car was actually produced in Ireland. Given the resources he had though he could have made a much better car. By your process of thinking Delorean shouldn't be your example because he did the same thing gm did and still flopped. As for the ZR1 I'm very glad they didnt bc all we need is another hopped up Cobalt or another pointless Silverado SS. The Z06 was and still is Brilliant. Now, I'm not saying they shouldnt have made the ZR1, I think they should have just waited til the C7 generation to reintroduce it.
 
It was Irish money, indeed. My point being he left GM because he saw the direction the company was headed. Obviously, he thought he could do better, and didn't. Although he was found not guilty of selling drugs, he was most certainly using them. I definitely don't think he could've done a better job than GM, as he could barely keep his own life together, let alone the company.

When I mention the mindset, I'm not really talking about performance vehicles. GM goes out of their way to ensure the Vette has a certain quality to it that's lacking throughout the brand. Yes, the interior is cheap, but for the past two generations, the engineering has been sufficient, if not sound. A Caddy shouldn't feel like a Cobalt, but the fit and finish does, just with different materials. I believe if GM had a better overall package, they would've sold better, and been more competitive in the market.

Instead, they produced cookie-cutter cars.
 
Yeah, I got to ride in a new CTS and it was so cheap. If you want any quality you gotta get a CTS-V(which I wish GT5 had) and it still feels cheap. My 92 Hardbody pickup feels better built and it retailed for a 1/4 of the cts base model

Ford was there because Kaz owns a Ford GT. :)

I would say he's biased but he put in a 69 Camaro so that's hard to argue.
