Oh well. It is September again, and Santa will not be long in coming.
It's like, jeez, what happened to the year?
But this time I will be prepared. Starting my Xmas shopping this month. Get two presents a month until it's done.

Christmas comes, within a certain degree of error, the exact same time every year.

As does my birthday, so feel free to grab an extra present.

I'm sure others experience this, but as you get older and gain more responsibility, time goes by faster and faster each year. I wonder if time slows down again after retirement...

Life flies when your having fun. To me it feels just like yesterday at the 2010 new year party. As you get older time seems to go faster. Its a strange phenomenon but just enjoy everyday.

I've had the same thoughts. My theory is that because we are all waiting for GT5, Christmas has snuck up on us. I'm pretty sure that's what happened to me.

When you start thinking about Christmas a day after AUGUST is over, that's bound to happen. (Ok, you actually waited 36hrs)

I think it only speeds up. Imagine being on vacation for the rest of your life.

You should feel sorry for this man!

I've already bought some Christmas presents for my lad when I saw a good deal but that doesn't mean it feels like it's coming any sooner. If you don't like the early commercialisation just ignore it all until December, problem solved :)

Jeez... maybe the Christmas ads in the middle of October DOES do something.

Well, I work nightshift in a huge supermarket chain. Not saying who but it begins with 'T'.
Anyway, noticed some stock in the back - advent calendars!
Pretty soon the wrapping paper, cards, and decorations will be in soon.
Talk about commercialisation!

Your not the only one being prepared for X-mas.. :sly:

Sheesh, Christmas. It comes every year due to the way the Earth spins as it revolves around the sun. Very simple, actually.

Hell I get two sets of holidays this year, Hanukkah and Xmas. I'd totally OK with that because it means I get to eat and drink more.

But ya as you get older time seems to go faster, seriously if feels like it was just June now it's September. And I don't do my shopping till like a week before Xmas and I suspect I'll be doing my Hanukkah a week before it begins too.

what about the bad kind of retirement where you're just sitting at home or in a home waiting for death? is it bad that the image of patiently waiting for death is the first thing I thought of when I thought of retirement? :indiff:

There is a reason for that, a lot of times warehouses run out of seasonal stock rather quickly so the stores have to get it rather early in order to fill demand. Local Targets have Christmas lights out already on the wall behind the Halloween candy. The grocery store I work at had the Halloween candy out mid-August for basically the same reason.

Why does christmas come so soon? Because Santa has to make more than a few trips with all that coal.

Only true non-procrastinators shop before Xmas Eve. 👎
A song that may explain what you're feeling.

Argue with that logic... ;)

why you ask/complain? Because if time really flies by so rapidly then GT5 will be very soon in your hands! ;-)

Yeah it's probably true that GT5 had something to do with it. Getting a release date - finally - made us all wish our lifes away this year.
Anyway, after retirement, not only does time slow down but everything else slows down as well....unless you get some medication to help!
