i'm not particularly fond of the track because i'm more accustomed to longer tracks with less hairpins. in the next coming days i'll prolly get used to it tho and its good trying new things.

finally, a true drifter would never complain about the track or how it has low potential, a true driftin would make most oout of anything

That COULD be the thought of A real drifter, but it isn't necesarry for ALL drifters to think just THAT, it's a good way to think about different tracks, but it's not like you can't complain about a course as a real drifter, your allowed to.
I think it's alright though, I came up with the idea that Tsukuba sucked for a real "woahw" factor of drifting (see DA's thread competition) I don't have any problems with Tsukuba in any other way.

It's just not a track where you could make the most amazing vid. ever:indiff: It's just too small for THAT.

yes, but since you are playing a game and have a choice, wouldn't you select your favorite track? I personally think motorland is a good practice course... All you see in videos, etc... is style drifting, I want to see some high speed drift on amalfi or citi di aria, if someone has the skills. Driving my evo3 down amalfi with n2 tires touge style is hard enough.

I assume you're talking about those two downhill ones? I can't seem to get those either. I would love to see a drift vid at that track. ps: Anyone have any tips for those corners? Thanks in advance. 👍

nope, course just shows a flaw in the physics system. thats why those turns are impossible to drift in rwd cars.
Watch any Best Motoring Video where he;s driving stock or lightly tuned cars, and he whips around consecutive hairpins without much steering work. and in GT4.... nope

I really dont see how somebody can dislike a course unless they just arent good at it. Too many straightaways is one good reason... too many turns or Hairpins is not a good reason. :dunce: too many blind corners could be a reason.. but any course can be learned with practice.

yeaaaa dude, Autumn Ring! The variety of bends, the perfect slope angle for different approaches. Love it, especially reverse.

I agree. Autumn Ring is one the funnest courses to go drift on for all HP range of cars. Tsukaba isn't that great of a drift course in my opinion either. My reason is it doesn't have much linking corners. Maybe its considered more often because of the tracks reputation as a popular course to race on, but for drifting its mediocore.

Personally I prefer Apricot Hill. I think it has the best of everything. It's fun to challenge yourself on. Like trying to link corners 1 and 2 and then snapping back to catch 3 (I've only done it once). It has a couple long high speed corners, a nice hairpin, and a real challenging techinical section, a left-right-left of continually decreasing speed. Tsukuba is a fun course as well but I don't get the same "WOW" effect out of watching replays from that course.

Apricot hill was my fav track in gt3.. but it feels docile and neutered in gt4.. wider softer turns. Its still good though.

This is the main linking corners. I approach this feinting 3 times.. that's 3 links. This is the only good linking area though.

You also have the last corner to perform a long wide drift. These 2 areas are the high-lights of Tsukuba for drifting. A good amount of technique can be performed here.

(img created by member: S2000lover)-hope u dont mind me usin the pic ;)

Tsukuba is perfect for tuning your car to drift, but in my opinion i think the infineon raceway is the one of the hardest tracks to drift because i've drifted that track 24/7 since i got the game and i still have trouble drifting some turns and linking them too

I just tried drifting for the first time last night for 2 hours and I couldn't do jack on Tsukuba, so I just picked Suzuka East Circuit (1.? miles). I could actually get something going on Suzuka using the Blitz ER34 but Tsukuba felt too tight. Maybe I'm just trying to get to advanced too soon. My drift angles aren't really crazy but I do get the rear end peeking out some. I'm on the DS2 until I get me a DFP at the end of April.

in GT3 I always used to drift Apricot Hill
I like it because it has many linkable turns (drifting wise)
and It also has one high-speed turn thats long

i love tskuba because i watch tons of BMI also i love apricote hill , so to me that last long corner befor the finish line is identical to the first corner of apricote hill in repects to how u set up to drift it and how u maintain the drift from entry to exit.

Now I've NEVER seen such a vid. in my life!!!

It's D1, bro! :) get into it, definitely a good thing to see for drifting fans. The best drifters competing. May I suggest to you www.v-opt-usa.com

edit: looks like the US v-opt site is down... but look up video option videos on Google. they're the main distributors of D1 vids.

So if you could explain to me why the track is good with out insulting my opinion please do.

I think that people like this track because of it being short and having hairpins. In the wet this course is really easy, and i think its a good course to learn on. The first four or five bends are imense and really good to drift. I think its all down to your opinion and everyones got their reasons. I just cant wait to get a wheel so its easy to drift.

i prefer Trial Mountain, but Tsubaka is a good one

I like trial mountain too, Its all the small bends that you can link together. Its also got the tighter bends which make it a good mix. Its a great circuit, even if your not drifting, highly recomended.

I'm in love with Trial Mountain and Apricot Hill, they're just so much fun to drift/tune/test/launch-off-hilly-corners on (Y'know, the final corner in Trial Mountain). I especially like Trial Mountain because the first tunnel turn is basically my make or brake [/pun] turn because of it's hairpin like qualities (yet it's really not one). I love AH mainly for the first 2 turns that can be emulated into one big turn.

My 2 cents,

....I just cant wait to get a wheel so its easy to drift.....

Just have to say that the DFP is harder:ouch:

And I agree with Vinsion, I have the same favorite tracks, but for other reasons:
-Trial Mountain: If you can drift the whole circuit, you can drift almost any corner in standard tracks. Good track for tuning I agree:tup:

-Apricot Hill: Also because of the first two corners, but with all other corners of Apricot Hill, cause there's a lot of linking you can do in the first section of AH, the long corner that follows is a big challenge for me, and it has got a hairpin, and two nasty little corners that you almost can't drift:crazy: Even better for testing out and tuning:tup:

Apricot Hill is my favourite I think, since I can drift that track better:tup: I think that Grand Valley has become a lot more difficult to drift, compared to GT3 then, I also think Midfield and Deep Forest have become harder to drift:crazy:

Try going to http://www.jdmoption.com to purchase the videos. In the video you just saw, that is indeed the Blitz ER34 D1GP car that we see today in GT4.

Ken Nomura(ER34 driver, otherwise known as "Nomuken") is known for having the highest recorded drift angles in D1GP. In the option videos, he is such a clown and a total pervert.

Kazuhiro Tanaka still drives that S15 which looks a lot different because of sponsor acqusitions. He's also a top D1 driver of Team Orange, which consists of other famous drivers such as Nobushige Kumakubo(winner of the 2004 Japan vs USA D1GP event) who drives the only S15 with a sequential transmission, as opposed to the stock 5/6 speed transmissions.

For the record, the voices you heard were from Manabu Suzuki(D1GP Commentator, loudest voice in the video), Keiichi Tsuchiya(Famously known as the Drift King, the not so loud voice), and Manabu Orido(Professional JGTC driver and aspiring D1 driver driving for RS*R, deepest voice in the video).

All of the 2004 D1GP season is on Option Videos and the 1st race of the 2005 series, at Irwindale Motor Speedway in Southern California, is due to come out very soon. I was at the California event, as well as December's Japan vs USA event. If you like watching videos, they do not do justice to watching D1 drifters in real life.

Sorry for rambling on with this information. I'm a huge D1 fan and I was bored enough to present this information in my first post.

Been to all the D1 events in SoCal including both days of GT-Live. But D1 isn't what it use to be after it came here..(in a bad way). Anyway, all this is off topic, thanks for the info 👍

Out of curiosity, what makes you say that? I've recently became a fan and I've never been to a D1 event til GT-LIVE. I've actually enjoyed the 2005 Round 1 series in Irwindale moreso than the Japan vs USA event, mostly because of the track layout. I've heard that the 2003 events at irwindale were pretty crazy as well. I think it's awesome seeing live tandem drifting rather than watching the videos. Anyway, didn't mean to continue straying off topic, just curious.
