Why were car testing features removed?

A staple of early GT's and a valued inclusion, the car tests were later brought back in to GT5 as DLC including 0-60, 1/4 mile and top speed tests.

Why were they removed again and will they be making a comeback?

I have to have a notebook with... Track, Time, Car, Specs, Tires. So I can tune my cars & it is time consuming :(

I will add that GT2 had 2 skidpads for license tests... And GT3 had at least one of them in the wet....

Why have we never had a test AREA? For checking handling, speed, etc.

Thanks guys, it just seems so odd to me that something that was completely built and working in GT5 (admittedly as DLC.. which was odd) would just be cut out entirely.

While it's a shame that the game struggles to match real life from performance to data (hello obese lister storm and mclaren f1 gearbox) comparing performance within the game is still valid. But without any testing abilities a lot of tuning remains guesswork, a lot of my tunes were done in order to match cars to there real life variants much more closely.
