Yup. I still use the cockpit view. I wish there was a hood, though.

Yes, i agree!! The hood would be nice as hell!! Perfect view, and it gives you more feeling then just the view of the road we have now!

If you actually felt like you were in the driving seat, then I'd use the cockpit view, but seeing as all you get are two transluent dials, I prefer to stick with the full-car view. If they'd put in a full dashboard, steering wheel, etc., then I'd probably go with cockpit view.

Nah, if they did that, too much of the screen area would be wasted. I like the view as it is.

I second that one..

A full cockpit would swallow up the bottom 1/4 of the screen. That would block out as much, (if not more) than the "outside the car" view.

I like seeing my car while its racing in cockpit you cant see anything besides it doesnt even show a steering wheel another words your not really in the cockpit.

outside cause the other views just in the middle of no where i mean its not cockpit, i said this befor and someone said have u eva been in a racing car cause you feel like your on the ground. i just laughed i mean the camera view is like a foot from the ground i forget which prick this was...

i like the cockpit view & i think it is fine the way it is. for one thing i don't care about proper representation of the dash esp. since my view of the road is not blocked.

i always choose cockpit view coz, i find it easier to steer and drive in that position where you only have the road in front, though if GT4 comes around they should definitely put in a proper drivers position view with steering wheel and side mirrors , dash board and other details, i think that would make the viewing much better.

whenever i try the external view, I just spin uncontrollably, crash into everything, steer wrong, etc. I always use the cockpit view in all games, and with a choice I will use 1st person wiews in shooters and the like.

i use whole car view, i need to see how much my car is drifting and wich way my rear is facing.
in cockpit view you don't realize you're drifting till your car is totally out of control, in outside view you can't stop it b4 disaster strikes

I totally agree on that one.
Ive tried the cockpit view and you just cant sense any balance in the car.
Its not like real life in which you can feel out the car through the seat of the pants feel, you just dont have those sensations with the cockpit view. I just cant get the feel of the car in the cockpit mode. At least in the full car mode, you can actually see the cars yaw and pitch when your about to lose it. ;)
Full car view all the way baby. :D

I use the "bumper-cam" cockpit view... I had to when I started, my first car was a PT Cruiser and I couldn't see over the top of the darned thing in exterior view!

The exterior view's camera angle rather ill-concieved, in my personal opinion. The previous games' slightly above and pulled back view worked a lot better, you could see ahead well and just enough behind to block any sudden charges. This new "shoved up the tailpipe" view doesn't offer a decent enough field of vision to see in either direction, especially with the taller vehicles.

I use cockpit view. I've tried the outside view, but it's too hard for me to control (I tend to oversteer too much), since the camera's line is always belated for a second or so after the car has actually moved, causing me to oversteer or over-correct my driving. With the cockpit view, you get what you did now instead of later. I'm sure that if I had used chase view since the beginning, I would be more comfortable with it, but as it stands, I started out with the cockpit view, and I'm going to end it with cockpit view. :D (And no, that's not some sign that I'm going to quit GT3  ). However, I do have my gripes... I don't necessarily wish for an entire cockpit with gauges, A-pillars and what not, but I do wish for a hood, and a higher up view, rather than basically being stuck to the front bumper...
