Will GT5 have qualifying for big race events?

I know that in GT3 you had the option to qualify for what ever position... but do you think that Gt5 will give you the ability do qualify sooo you dont have to start at the VERY END of the line.

I assume it would have qualifying for every race, much like GT3 and 4...To my mind it would be backtracking if it wasn't implemented.

In GT4 championship events there was the possibility to practice and if you had the fastest time you'd get the first spot.

I think qualifying is an absolute must for all events. It's ridiculous to be forced to start in last place, no matter what race it is (unless it's some sort of a challenge of course).

in case there will be the possibility to create lobbies then the admin should be able to decide about qualy or not. if not the line up should be by coincidence or worst in front and best at the end...

You mean qualifying with all cars on the track simultaneously setting times?
Not sure this will be the case, think it will be just on car on the track ( online ) although all players set times simultaneously, just not meeting on the track until the race.

On the one side it´s the most funny thing in GT to start from the last position and overtake all cars, but on the other side I would like to see qualifying races. So maybe GT4 was ok but I miss an real qualifying day like in the F1 with real setups and times. GTR2 was nice.

For Online it´s a must I agree.

I agree it's a must for online, just to seperate the loonies and put them on the back of the grid so you can concentrate on racing those who at least have basic driving skill.
And it will add an extra competitive element to private rooms as well.

I agree, apart from the bit about ALL events. In gt4, I was racing on the Nordschliefe. The type of car I was using took over ten minutes to lap (and I was in one of the fastest). I had to do an out lap and then a fast lap... And the race was only one lap long....

I think it should be an option. Preferrably F1 style qualifying. Certainly worth it for the longer races.

Definitely an option for all races, so those who wanted could skip it .

It's been a while since I played GT3, but didn't GT3 have optional qualifying for all events?

I also think all events should have grid starts, except for series that normally have rolling starts.

A while back when super_fla visited PD's studio,Kaz mentioned there would be qualification,

K.Y: "ahhaaa" we but that feature to allow a fair race for everyone for instance, if you started in the 16th position in a rooling start at fuji-speedway there is no way to win the race. also it does help but not that much. its only active when the gap is huge (more than 2 seconds). also there were some event that the RBE were not active. we will only remove it completly only when there is going to be a qualifying laps to sent every on position in the starting grid. Plus only very good and proffesional players will like playing without it active.

I'm looking forward to 50 lap online race with qualifying and practice, just like we did in Toca 3 on PS2 4 years ago.
