I currently have a g25/playseat evo setup for gt5p and love it, no complaints at all. With the release of forza coming around the corner i want to make changes to accommodate it. I only want one setup to mess with (ps3 & 360)so i think im going to upgrade to a fanatec 911 turbo s clubsport edition setup. Does anyone know if the fanatec gear will work with the playseat evo?

Also since i have a logitech g25 do you think i need to purchase the fanatec clubsport edition with shifter and pedels or i can get just the wheel and use my logitech pedels and shifter?

Any help or info on this would be great:)

I was told to buy the cable extension for the shifter, and the shifter mounting bracket to attach it to my playseat. At least that's what fanatec told me. I have both, but I really don't know how the shifter mounting thing they ga e me will work. I guess I'll know more when my wheel finally gets here.

Yes it will work, All you need is to mark and drill new holes for the wheel.. which is super easy.. The screws that came with PlaySeats evo chair work with Fanatec wheel..

For the Pedals, I use the ClubSport, buy them instead the plastic ones trust me.. All you need to do is get a thin metal/alloy plate and screw it or even thin plywood, easy thing to do..

For shifter.. I used the tape that PlaySeats evo came with ( sticky one made out of black material, I dont know the term for it ) then I used Zip ties to tie the sifter.. it wobbles a bit but You won't notice too much if you secure it correctly.

The shifter cable extantion is your standard PS2 Mouse cable..

I order the cable from Fanatec for 2 dollars I think, but it took them few days more to deliver so once I got the wheel i went to radioshack and bought a cable which was 18 buks!!! It's the white cable that you see in the picture .. later that day my cable arrived and I returned the radioshack one.. So just buy the cheap one form Fanatec, its black and looks cooler .

Now Since FM3 is coming out I too will have to buy Turbo S pure edition, as well the wheel will work 100% with PS3 compared to RS.. So RS will be my permimant PC sim driver, while G25 and DFP will dust away ,, till I get my Turbo S

How well does the pedal plate work with the clubsport pedals. I mount my g25 pedals offset to the right, so that I can right foot break and have my left foot for the clutch. It tends to flex the pedal plate a little with the g25 pedals, and I'm wondering if the extra stiffness of the clubsport pedals will be too much for the playseat.

By looking at your setup it doesn't look like you mount yours to the right. It's kinda hard to tell from the pictures though, but before I moved mine over, the middle post drove me crazy because I had to bend my ankle to reach the brake. Since you can move the pedals individually on the clubsport pedals, placement of them might not be as big a deal though.

Really, I'm just wondering if you had to reinforce the pedal plate on the playseat.

The Clubsports wont fit on standard EVO chair pedal plate. I had to get bigger plate.. so its more reinforced now.. but nothing for column support, it does bend about less then inch? but it does not do any harm to playseats.

I have a solution for you. Yesterday I have made a prototype. The final product will be power coated in silver including screws and nuts.

If you are interested, please send me an PN.

Hey guys,

I just ordered the GT2 Clubsport Edition, and I also ordered the WRC Playseat... so far, it seems as though there's no real solution for the shifter to be mounted with the Playseat from Fanatec or from Playseat...

StevenKing70 has the best solution that I've seen so far in my research and it looks great..

I wonder if there's any other solution?

I have the shifter adapter for the rennsport wheelstand it is $20. Perhaps you could bolt it to the playseat? In the meantime you could always use those silly rods and mount it to the wheel...

Nox (& any others): what exactly is your set-up for attaching the CSP to the Evo frame? Did you add reinforcement behind the Evo footplate?

Also, for those using the V1 GT3 RS wheel - how is it working with GT5? Is it necessary to upgrade to the V2?

Thanks!

How long are those cable ties? I have a bag of 140mm but they are way to short to tie a fanatec shifter.

Here's what I used. It was about 3$ and came from the local hardware store. No holes needed drilled, everything lined up perfect. I use it to mount the top, and a few zip ties for the bottom.

As far as zip tie length, just put 2 of them together to make them longer.

Yes, I understand your set-up Bevo - we discussed it before. Like you, I offset the pedals to right-foot brake & the whole rig seems a little fragile under the added weight/pressure of the CSPs.

The question is, is the Playseat footplate holding up OK over time? Did you not feel the need to reinforce it in some way?

Mine has held up fine. I've been using the pedals since they were first released and have had no problems at all. There is still just a little bit of flex when you really hammer the brakes, but it isn't noticable when your racing. Also there isn't near as much movement with the steering wheel as in the video above.

Is this video correct (see after 12m05s and 9m50s) ?

Any other method of mounting the gearshifters is 'ghetto'. I was so impressed with the construction of the gearshift adapter I got the xcpo pedal plate adapter for my v2's. my pedals practically snapped into place, that much precision.
