Hello.

I like most of the cars from the GT series but, everytime a new installment is released I am disappointed that some real classics don't make it into the game.

Will we ever get to see some real icons of motoring like the Mk2 Golf, Ford Cosworths, 80s and 90s BMWs etc etc.

I feel that certain EU manufacturers deserve to have more coverage, it's sad to see company's like Alfa Romeo, Bentley, RUF, SEAT and others lacking some key vehicles or, having an icon in standard form.

Please add more EU cars as we have made some of the best vehicles ever.

That might be a good idea but its been 8 years since they added a SEAT and a Bentley.

Exactly. Although, they did make the Bentley premium.

The list of cars that really should be in is huge, they could make a start by turning the mk1 golf, Renault 5 turbo and Peugeot t16 premium.

I would like to see recognition towards the classics with 1 car turned premium to go alongside a VGT car from the same manufacturer.
It's not just classic EU cars I like, it's all classics.

It's a very good idea to release iconic cars from a manufacturer with Vision Gran Turismo cars - ideally a small pack of cars so with the Aston Martin for example you would get the DBR1 race car which won Le Mans and the World Sportscar championship in 1959 and the Aston Martin DB5 made famous by the James Bond Films. If PD did that they would be providing the links which make Aston Martin the worldwide iconic brand that it is today - a VGT car that showcases ideas for the future, the DBR1 which created AM's sporting heritage and the DB5 which brought awareness and desire for the AM brand to the world.

I say no.

We really need to see more skylines and roadsters.

Well we really need cars of all types.

Well we really need cars of all types.

And I think you'll find that most of those "types" that are missing (and actually worth having) are European. I'm also not talking about tuner cars, If they were added to the equation the list would be enormous.

Feel free to actually click the like button.

Not specifically European, but from all three regions, we need a balance.

Not specifically European, but from all three regions, we need a balance.

Granted but, the majority are still from the EU. When I think of missing cars, the first ones that come into my head are German, then English, French, Italian, Spanish etc.

i'm all for cars from around the world, my last 3 car suggestions were special editions from South Africa. They were all based on EU cars though .

As I said earlier, we have some EU icons in there already, PD could start by giving them premium status or, giving them the RUF treatment at least.

Sure the European region has a vast and varied selection of cars with a vast history, and I'm pretty sure Kaz and Co. are aware of this. Gen III saw the addition of many classics overall, and I'm pretty sure this trend will continue. However, they must not also forget that they're aiming for a very inclusive car list worldwide.

They started to get it right with GT2, so much went missing after that. 3 was kind of boring, 4 was better and 5 was good. with every installment I was convinced that they were going to surprise me with some automotive legends only to have my hopes and dreams shattered.

Of course they are aware, their presence at Goodwood and the N24 race shows this.

Cars from the EU, Japan, America and Australia take up a huge majority of all manufacturers around the globe. The EU buys more copies of the game than anyone else. Leaving out cars like the E30 & E36 M3, M1, Sierra Sapphire Cosworth, RS500, Golf GTI 16v, Audi Sport Quattro (road), Alfasud, GTV6, Alfa SZ etc etc etc etc etc is just plain ignorant.

I would choose any of these cars over the last few SEMA prize winners or VGT cars.

A premium Leaf but, a standard Mercedes 190 Evo?.

I also feel you are being the devils advocate on this matter.

I wouldn't go as far as call out plain ignorance because we have no idea on what circumstances machines are included. I'm not discarding the proposition of EU cars being added, but only focusing on a certain demographic in a game with a worldwide audience is far more ignorant in my opinion. And you all know how that's worked out for the Asian region.

Why would they have made the Leaf a standard car?

When did he say that? You're one of those people to twist others words?

Obviously he means if they make a Leaf premium, why not a 190 Evo?

I wouldn't mind some VR6 Corrado, or a MK3 Polo G40...

Obviously the E30 is a given, no idea why such an iconic car is not in this game.

I didn't twist any words. He's comparing cars of different generations. The 190 Evo was already made years ago, for a previous generation. The only way to make the Leaf the same quality as the 190 Evo would have been to make it a standard car.

Again, there's either a language barrier here or you're making something out of nothing.

That's pretty much the exact opposite of what he was saying.

Nobody is talking about making the leaf the same quality as the 190, that's retarded.

Just because the 190 is old, why can't it be premium? We have plenty of premium classic cars.

Age has nothing to do with it.

----

Also, just to pick a random example, the MK3 Supra, standard car throughout GT2-4, then made premium in GT5/6.

No reason to not do the same with a car like the 190e... among many others.

@Streeto - thanks for your comments, much appreciated. I drive an old VW and have been in a G40 with a BBM charger swap, crazy little beast it was.

It seems that every time I venture into the GT forums I'm met with some smart Alec, decisive and frustrating comments.

@sparkytooth - It is kind of ignorant to have multiple models of cars that really don't need to be there instead of just one more Maserati.

Japan is well catered for as is the US. Australia could have a few more worthy cars and the EU has (as you said) VAST quantities of vehicles that should have been in GT continuously since the very start.

EU cars are the most exciting, prestigious and attractive of all regions.

Please refrain from cluttering up my thread with your pointless argumentative comments.

I don't see how there are cars that really don't need to be there beyond the vast majority of duplicates. I'm not arguing against the specialness of a certain type of car, all cars to me are special in a way and are all worthy of a presence within the car list. I'm just saying that focusing on only certain demographics is a better rounded way of dealing with the demand for cars.

I would think this game and it's audience is big enough that there should be room in there for cars with huge regional appeal and iffy appeal outside the home region. There's more than enough room in the game to include a handful of cars that might only be popular with South Americans or Russians or Africans or Europeans or anywhere else in the world.

It is kind of ignorant to have multiple models of cars that really don't need to be there instead of just one more Maserati.
Except that it's been well established that it didn't take a great deal of effort to simply import the vast majority of these duplicates from previous (but relatively recent) iterations of the game.
EU cars are the most exciting, prestigious and attractive of all regions.[/USER]
To you...I, with the backing of certainly numerous others, am inclined to disagree. It is kind of ignorant to present statements such as this as fact when they are anything but.

You figure there's some sort of disconnect there when there is none. You can't have the latter when you should by now most certainly expect the former. It's a public forum where you're free to state your opinions and others are free to offer up rebuttals so long as all parties stick to rules defined by the Terms of Service and the Acceptable Use Policy. Guess what, not everyone agrees with you. What's more, there are those who don't agree with you that will have the absolute audacity to voice it.

He put two specific cars against each other. What's the time spent here from the developer's point of view? The time is spent on making one premium car, because the standard Mercedes model was already made years ago and that time couldn't be used again when it was time to add the Leaf to the game. Now, if the time it takes making a premium model is 1, and the time it would take to make a new standard car is 0.1, we end up with the following:

Time available: 1.
Time required to make both cars premium: 1+1 = 2 = >1 = Not an option.
Time required to make the Nissan a standard and the Mercedes a premium: 0.1+1 = 1.1 = >1 = Not an option.
Time required to make the Nissan a premium and keep the Mercedes as a standard: 1+0 = 1 = ≤1 = An option.
Time required to make the Nissan a standard and keep the Mercedes as a standard: 0.1+0 = 0.1 = ≤1 = An option.
Time required to leave the Nissan out and make the Mercedes a premium: 0+1 = 1 = ≤1 = An option.

Of course the last option would have been doable in theory, but how likely is it that they would have left out the Leaf altogether, considering it was the European, Japanese and World car of the year, it's a Japanese car, it's new technology and it's a Nissan? Not a chance.

And I don't really think it would have been an option to make it a standard car either, so the only option remaining in this specific relationship is the Leaf as a premium and the 190 Evo as a standard.

It would make more sense to put the Mercedes against a car that was upgraded from standard to premium, such as the Silk Cut Jaguar, because those would, in theory, have been fully exchangeable.

The reason why lots of cars aren't premium is time.

Time is obviously important as the previous poster has said. However, I don't understand why the Ginetta G4 and Jensen Interceptor were deleted, when they could have just been ported across - I wan't both those as premiums!

 I really don't get a lot of you on this public forum. It's a well known FACT that the EU has and does produce some of the most iconic and classic cars EVER. Why do some of you feel the need to come in here and pick holes in my post?

It's a simple question to ask for these legends, if you want cars from Mexico or Nigeria, create your own thread and stop posting negative comments here. It's not big and it's not clever.

Arguing for the hell of it is quite frustrating and does nothing but fill GTP with useless posts.
I don't understand why some of you have taken offence to this question.

@eran0004 - Why are you still going on about the Leaf Vs 190 thing? My point was simply this, the Leaf is a boring and slow car and the Mercedes is a fast and fun road version of a DTM race car. I could have put many other cars as an example, I just happened to choose the Leaf and 190. I use the 190 and I NEVER use the Leaf (unless I'm forced to), why is such a drab car premium when there are numerous EU (and other regions) cars that are standard.

Stop wasting time and brain power arguing and trying to be clever.

@TexRex - What are you waffling on about? I know what a forum is and I get that people can post whatever but, this is a really simple question that is true, many many cool and fast cars have been ignored for too long.
It is ignorant to completely leave a lot of these cars out but have 30 skylines and miatas etc. If you think that EU cars aren't some of the best in the world then you must live a very sheltered and narrow minded life. It's a worldwide fact that the EU have made and make the best cars.

Importing MOST (not all) cars from GT4 to 5 and then 5 to 6 is also a lame cop out in my opinion. PD have had 15 years to get the IMSA Audi 90 into the game and they haven't even tried, the Prius gets multiple versions and premium status though. Boring.

It's a public forum. expect everything. ;) and :(

But... Enjoy. ;)

And you ARE right. There are many, many EU cars that deserve to be added. (The worst for not being in GT is Po.... Oh, bother, I won't go there.... ;) )

I'm not still going on about it, I'm simply replying to posts directed to me. It's actually really easy to understand why the Leaf is a premium car if you only paused for a second to think about it, it's not like it's a great mystery and PD always picks slow and boring cars ahead of fun and fast cars. The Leaf is a great car, arguably one of the best electric cars on the market - that's the reason why it's in the game. It was added during the PS3 generation, that's the reason why it's a premium.

The reason why so many cars are standard is because they are so many. Making them all premium would take a long time, probably well over a hundred man-years. I wouldn't expect any big changes in the near future.

If you didn't want a discussion, why bother posting in the first place? "Brain power"...

The Leaf is in the game because it was awarded Car of the Year in Japan. PD would've been stupid not to put the Leaf in the game. It's a modern, all-electric, mass produced vehicle. It's a car that is paving the way for cars of the future. We can't keep our heads in the past for too long.

@eran0004 Kaz should hire you as a spokesperson for whenever something gets delayed, I'm sure you could explain their incompetence in a quick mathematical equation.

We definitely need more apologists like you on this forum.
