Willow Spring 20Mile problem with pit release

I've had the very same problem and its wrecked many 20 miles of Willow races. The tires are changed, the fuel is in, then we wait, and we wait, and then we move off only to stop to let the car behind us in the pit lane go first.

If you look in the 20 miles of willow thread, there's lots of talk there I think too.

Happened to me too; Usually I go in the pits miles in the lead then my ah, "pit crew" decides it's tea time. So nowadays I use either a KTM or LCC Rocket - both these cars DOES NOT require a pit stop at all.

Thanks, it's very frustrating when you are in the lead

You can use any tyre you want - so long as you drive sensibly. Couple of advice: 1, don't panic if you think you are not catching up to the leaders - remember, they have to pit while you don't, and 2, towards the end of the race, car will begin to misbehave noticeably - just be gentle with throttle and don't try to be a hero: you will win just fine. 👍👍

I used to run this event a lot... If you know you will have to pit for tyres, then mid race (Is it 8 laps for the race?) is the end of lap 4... which tends to be a time when the pit lane is nearly empty. Laps 5/6 tend to get a bit busy - So If you dive in for oven baked boots and fresh chilled drinks, you may end up being held by the lollypop dude.

So other AI cars are passing your pit stall... If you were released, you could pull out into a car that is either about to pit, but more likely has done its pit stop and is now on the way out.

Why when being released from the pits will my car not start right away?

I've seen two possible reasons: the one that @Ryk mentions above when the pit-lane is crowded:tup: and the second was from speeding penalties for entering the pits too fast.:ouch::guilty:

Try slowing down a little before entering the pits.

I used to get speeding penalties all the time if I stayed at full-throttle when entering the pits.:dopey: It surely is frustrating sitting in the pit-lane with new tires and a full tank of fuel and watching the rest of the field pass by.:grumpy:

Good luck!

I've had this happen in an empty pit, but yeah, I do fly at full pelt into the pits, so I'll try slowing down and see what happens.👍
