Willow Springs - hateful circuit!

Out of all of Americas great racing circuits, why oh why did they choose this turd?! It's like something a few hill billies have made after drinking moonshine. No scenery, no kerbs, no distance markers, no barriers, no anything!! Makes placing the car on the track rather tricky, especialy at night! It has the worst corners in history and no flow what so ever. I hope after doing the career mode i never ever come across this waste of pixels ever again!!! Anyone else not a fan of it or perhaps you totaly disagree and love it. Either way, it will be interesting to read peoples views on this new addition.

that's how the track is in reality too. It's not easy, especially at night but i like the track!
 
It's a fast track anyway, and I like it. It's true that there're a lot of tracks like road America but I like to have a desert track which can be a good scenery for some spec races, like a Chevy El Camino race.

Even in GT6 the track looks like abandoned you know...

Tame the beast, it'll be your friend. Sounds like you're half way there.
 
Ever since I first drove it in NFS Pro Street it's been near the top of my unwritten list of tracks I don't like, not because of the scenery, which I actually quite like, but because I don't think some simple corners connected by a couple of long straights is a worthwhile track (Monza bores me too :lol:).

GT6 has so far done nothing to change that, but I'm sure driving an X20xx there will make me more appreciative. Or turn my disinterest into outright hatred...
 
I hate when I takes me 3 plus hours instead of 2 hours to get there. I really hate traffic. LoL I like all the tracks there (I wanna go on the kart track one day.) I hope the game adds Horse Thief Mile later on.
 
It's a tough one!! I generally like it, but not for the technicalities of the actual track - I agree with many of the comments above. But I love the bleakness of the environment - wide vistas, mountains, featureless baron landscape - just you, machine, sunset and volume set to 11! For me it really stands alone against the other tracks. (Course created Alaska tracks in GT5 do the same for me)

Edit: that 1st night race was a bitch!! Used the Lotus Europa - twitchy rear end couldn't cope with the long curves!!:banghead:

I don't think it's a great track, but to get all nationalistic and all, I also think the Silverstone GP is more a collection of corners than an enjoyable track. Would've much preferred Road America to either.
 
Yep Willow does nothing for me either, i would have much prefered Road America,
but seeing as we have the awesome Brands Hatch i dont care !, i know its in Kent, England but it rocks

Agreed. Disappointed Horse Thief is missing.
 
Some good replies here, and i agree that Road America would have been a great inclusion. My personal choice would have been Sebring, love that place!
 
Would much rather have had Road America but I don't hate Willow Springs...yet. I've only driven it a couple of times so far and I actually like the scenery or lack there of. I like the speed of the track but I do agree some parts don't feel all that great and it def doesn't seem that forgiving. Maybe it will grow on me.
 
Not really hate it. Its got the High Speed Ring into it. Simple and fast. Its also the most used track in television. Though I am still waiting for the Willow Road ones.

Also the last top gear episodes in the willow springs. SRT Viper, LFA Nurb, and V12 Vantage (Vanquish replacement) everyone? (or CTS-V, ZR1, and Challenger?)

I would prefer Virginia Int'l Raceway or this, NJMP Thunderbolt, since it's only a few hours from me.
