Actually, that totally blows the Mustang out of the water. There's a bunch of cars that work as KITT, but the GT500 isn't really at the top of the list. Just shows what advertising dollars will buy you.

Oh bring back the original, for moments like this:

Heck, even KARR had a better voice than this Arnett guy.

Now that was hlarious, what was that from?

Oh, and if you guys remember KARR was in the original series and was a more low-tone mean sounding voice.

I realize that some of you are taking great offense to KITT being made a Mustang.
The only problem that I see, is in the original series KITT was a plain black TA.
Kinda unobtrusive for that time period.
This 'Stang is farily screaming, "Look at Me!"
There is currently no production equivalent of the Trans Am.
KITT started as a easily available, sporty, american coupe.
That is, sadly, a category that only has one car at this time.
It happens to be a Mustang.
It happens to be perfect for the basically unobtrusive, sporty, "affordable", US made coupe.
Remember, Mike Knight was a basically normal guy, trying to live on a cop salary (in the pilot). Not many honest cops rolling in Vette's and pre-production prototypes.
And above all Knight/Long, was an honest cop.
Don't think so much about the car, think about the image that FLAG has to pull off.

I 'm more interested in whether or not they have the perfect hottie for the KITT tech, and do they have a proper semi and trailer picked out?

Using your logic then the regular Mustang GT should of been the choice instead of the GT500. Who says it has to be a CURRENT car either? The 2002 WS6 Trans-Am would of done quite nicely...and still kept the original feel of the show in terms of the car. Don't get me wrong, I love my Mustangs--but it just doesn't make any sense to use one as K.I.T.T. I won't even give this show a chance--mostly because the actor pool isn't strong and the guy doing the voice of K.I.T.T. is a pansy and on top of that most remakes suck ass with exception to Battlestar Galactica and Star Trek.

True enough, but if you go back to the re-runs, the whole original show was pretty cheesy. I mean, Mike Knight in the too tight black jeans, the played out members only knock-off jacket. He dressed as bad as Starsky and Hutch, and had the audacity to do it ten years later.
If Whoever is playing Michaek Knight/Long now is portrayed as a "car guy" then perhaps they put all that cool stuff in one of the earlier M3's or a restored Porsche 2.7 RS, or maybe a "Smokey and the Bandit" era restored T/A. And they definitely need to do something about the way the dude dresses.

I'm interested. It still holds some level of promise...

The problem is that they could have kept it a TransAm and made everyone happy. There's no rule that says every movie car has to be in production right now.. they could have pulled one from a few years ago, and it would have worked perfectly. They didn't, for one reason, and one reason only: Money. By making it a new production car, they get big paychecks from the manufacturer, and the manufacturer gets big paychecks from all the people who come to buy the car after the movie comes out.

I am very curious to see the movie in February. I liked the old show and hope the new one can pull it off.

Ever since I saw the Mustang, I really haven't felt one way or the other. I don't hate it, but I don't particularly like it. I hope the car can pull the role off. When I first heard it was a Mustang and people started talking about it, I couldn't help but think (and I am probably reading too much into it ), that maybe FLAG got the best contract from Ford than from GM. Police departments and have shifted to different makes before, so I just thought it would make sense for FLAG to do the same. After all, KITT is just a tool. :dopey:
