Windows Clock is fast...

My windows clock keeps getting ahead. I synchronize it wuith atomic time, but it keeps going ahead by 1-4 minutes. Could it be my motherboard battery, by chance?
 
I don't use Azerus, but I use BitComet. Then again, I ALWAYS used BitComet and have never come across this problem.
 
I think it's the batt. like I said. Mine is not keeping time and I don't feel like cracking my laptop open a 20th time. :grumpy:

No, actually. Pulse clocks go faster when the battery is failing.

What you should to is configure your computer to use an internet time service. Find a public NTP server which is geographically close to you, and which you have permission to use (Google for "public free ntp server"), and then configure your computer to use it.

The universal way of doing this is to open a Command Prompt and type:

net time /setsntp:<servername>

But XP allows you to do it through the Date/Time Control Panel Applet unless it's a member of a domain (in which case it uses the Domain Hierarchy to synchronise time).
 
I have the same problem in work! The clock on the computer reads 4 minutes faster than normal time, and it doesn't matter how many times i change it it always seems to please itself!

That's because your computer is picking up the time from the domain hierarchy. Each time your computer starts, it resynchronises the time with the domain. The domain time is evidently wrong.
