You've got to pay attention to how much money you are using because you've got to pay all your players wages at the end of the season. Thats why you have to sets of money numbers on the main screen.
If you find it hard i'm assuming your using the default master leage players mode, or the custom team mode. When before you pick a team for the master league, you are given 3 options. Original players, Match Mode Players and Custom team.
Original players is the wrong option to pick if you are just starting out with the game, because what it does is you pick a team from the list (say Juventus) and then all the players that are normaly in the team get replaced with these crappy crappy players. The real players from that team will still be in the game, but they will be available to sign because they aren't playing for anyone.
Match Mode players is probably the best option, you just pick a team and it will be exactly the same team that you would pick in a normal match mode. Although it kills the game if you just pick one of the best teams like this because then you don't have to bother improving a team because you already have the best. So it's better to pick a side that isn't the best, but don't pick one that's almost as crap as the original players thing. I tend to use Lazio, because they have a fair few crap players but they have a few good ones as well. I'd reccomend using Fiorentina, because there not a mega huge team but they are pretty good all round. Plus they have Luca Toni, who is a damn good CF.
Original team is basically creating your own team from scratch. You can design a kit and some other stuff. Your roster initially consists of those crappy default players, but you can actually change that before you start the game. Potentially you can put whoever isn't playing for another team in your squad, theres probably a limit to people who you can put in but you can make a pretty good team like that as well.
