I hope when they release it is in decent shape. I am not expecting a finished game hopefully it is 90% finished ish. Also I hope they avoid GTA6

I am loving what I see. I love the fact there is more than one way to approach the game. The gadgets are great. Hopefully it plays well. But IO Interactive should do well with this.

The game is so authentic to the Bond mythos that it joins the ranks of Alien: Isolation, RoboCop: Rogue City, and Indiana Jones And The Great Circle as near perfect interactive recreations of their respective franchises. And, like them, it may end up being better than many of the actual movies.

This came as a surprise to us, in our recent playtest of the game, as while we’d been impressed by what we’d seen before, in hands-off previews, we were worried as to whether Hitman developer IO Interactive had the necessary gaming experience, or affinity for the Bond franchise, to make it work. After playing the game for over three hours those concerns have now been firmly extinguished.
Good Day GIF

Other previews are also mostly very optimistic. I'm in for day -1, preordering for the 24 hour early access and an excuse for an extended Bank Holiday!

So ready for this. The intricacy of the better Hitman levels makes IO a natural fit for doing Bond. I'm deliberately not consuming too much preview content because I want to be surprised, but I really hope the levels have as much repeatability, options, trial and error, and depth as the Hitman games.

The airfield level running on base 5 at pretty much locked 60fps. There were major framerate drops when they first showed it, so this is nice to see.

Very good reviews. Unfortunately I can't play today because my house is a typical British oven 🥵

It's fun so far but yikes the car handling is not good imo

I know this is not a driving game but I expected a 2006 DBS to handle like a sports car not an SUV.
Yeah it was a wee bit floaty. Haven't got far enough yet to try the other vehicles.

Hopefully the Valhalla is better in this.

How is the gameplay loop.It looks good and I am thinking of adding it to the list of games to buy

Slower than probably expected from the trailers, especially the first few hours. Much less shooting, more stealth/investigation and an extended training section. Very much a Hitman follow-up rather than a new Uncharted. I really like it so far but it won't be to everyone's taste.

Gibson is very very good as a young cocky Bond. Honestly if the movie folk are really doing another soft reboot he should be in the frame.

That sounds good I am a huge Bond fan and I think a more Hitman than Uncharted is cool by me. I totally agree with you about Gibson he would make a great Bond. He gives me Pierce Brosnan vibes.

I am about 2-3 hours into this. The game is definitely more slow-paced/stealth and less shooty than I thought it might be (not a bad thing) but I a having a very good time with the game still. I have only briefly played Hitman, which one I don't recall, but this game has me wanting to go back and check out that series. I really am enjoying the first actual mission with the exploring/ investigating the area and putting the pieces together for the mission in whatever way you see fit.

I agree the driving so far is a bit of a bummer, since car chases and cars themselves are a highlight of the movies. I feel that the characters are fantastic and well acted and the plot is interesting so far, in fact the writing is top-notch.

The game did a damn fine job making me hate Monroe at first, then learning to respect and like him only to punch me in the gut when they killed him off in the span of 1-2 hours. :( It felt inevitable, but I also didn't see it coming so early on.

I’m glad it’s less shooty because that airfield gunfight kicked my arse for a while  Much more fun doing the sneaky stuff beforehand in the hotel.

(no spoiler, that’s all from the extended trailer)

Good initial sales. Hopefully they’ll hit their targets and get a sequel greenlit.

It took me maybe 5 attempts to clear the airfield. Lack of cover and the fact that it's the first real gunfight tripped me up. But later on there is a much longer shooting section that I found way easier. And very fun I will admit. Not that I would prefer the game to be all shooting all the time but it's great to balance it out with sections of combat, stealth and exploring.

Didn't know that stuff was in the extended trailer, seems a bit silly to show that.

I know this is a bit too late but what's everyone's thoughts on the theme song?

I thought it started off really strong, great melodies and the instrumentals are really good but it kind of fell off at the end when they overplayed the "will you play" part, made the song feel less like a Bond song.

I completed the game last night and have to say this game was one of the best experiences in gaming I've had this year. One of those games I sat and watched the entire credits while reflecting on the whole thing. I wanted to go back in and do the TacSim stuff but it locks when you complete the game? It says I need to play the game to unlock it. Maybe a glitch.

I both loved the ending and was slightly disappointed. Disappointed in that the game somewhat teases the Aston Martin Valhalla through the game and when you do finally "drive" it you are limited to a small space for a short time. I know the TacSim is going to update with Valhalla content, but still, felt like it should have played a larger role in the main game.

Big spoiler: Moneypenny is stabbed at the end of the game. What I don't like about that, apart from the obvious, is that the game wraps up without any mention if she is okay or not. I suspect this is intentional and that she will make a surprise appearance in the next game. Just felt odd at the end being only M and Bond at Greenway's gravestone. No Cressida, none of the surviving 00 agents, no Q either.

What I did like was the very end your character is finally referred to as 007, having not mentioned it the entire game until that point. On top of playing the Bond theme for the first time properly in the credits it felt like a great way to end the game and start the character. The game is clearly leaving a lot unresolved to set up for a sequel with Bond as an established agent.

Did you start doing the Tacsim stuff in-game (in Q branch) during your playthrough? I know mine is locked from the main menu as I haven't started it yet in-game.

I didn't access it during the playthrough, no. I figured I could jump back in at the end of the game and give it a go but it seems there is a point-of-no-return. Still, you'd think it would unlock after game completion.

Later on I will see if I can access it if I select a chapter where I would be able to start it.
