Anonite will see his name on the OP when I update it in a little moment.

Quetzal, the premium Celica rally car is not allowed for the WRC class due to it being built to the old Group A regs. Wrc cars must be built to the World Rally Car Regs (that gave them a little more HP, something we learnt from in the original season  ) and the street version is not allowed in either support classes pal :)
Re-read and yes, I just remembered from old Rally footages I used to see.
Guess I'll use the Subaru Impreza WRX STi Prodrive '01 for the PWRC.

Curious how old footage you "used to see". As we don't have a chance of seeing it in DK (the only danish sport channel gives a 🤬 about motorsport that's not F1 or Le Mans 24 hours, the latter is luckily on one of the free channels, and Eurosport doesn't have the license either) I once in a while either take out my good old VHS tapes and player and look some 2005-2008-ish WRC or go on YouTube and find old full reviews of rallies :)

Should I put you up for the Subaru?

PWRC, yes. Sorry to hear about that problem. One of my uncle took some video tapes of the '90s season from TV. It's been a while since I've seen them.

Nah, I'm not crying, the 2012 season doesn't seem to have been much better than most others, in fact maybe even less. Besides, the 2 liters looked waaay better (Impreza! Lancer! Corolla! Heck, EVERY 2.0 LITER RALLY CAR  )

I'll put you in the PWRC class then. Hope to have you in WRC too because we need drivers :)

btw in case you are not aware, the normal start time is in about half an hour after this post :)

Just a warning, I got WRC 3, NFS:MW2 and LA Noire for my birthday... so testing could be slightly delayed for me :p. Hopefully I can figure out a PWRC car soon... or would my JWRC Pug still fit into the regulations?

Oh damn, but on what days?

@Dave, don't we all love those region names? :sly:

@james, I think the Focus is ok for SWRC, awaiting confirmation when i get online again.

The '02 Focus is legit but not the '06 as it has a much higher engine displacement (2500cc+).

I'm interested in this. What are the most important posts to read thru on here regarding entering?

Just wanted to say one thing. Cant change rims for dirt tires in GT5. I miss GT4's ability to purchase separate rims for sport, race, dirt, and snow tires and would auto equip when tires were changed. Now, when you put the dirt tires on it puts the original wheels on for some dumb reason. Oh well, you'll look good on tarmac :p

I've been pondering over a purchase of WRC3, I was kind of annoyed at the first 2, any good?

Every other Saturday. Had we been running, it woud be not the next weekend we're coming to, but the one after :)

Believe it or not, I'm about to put that Focus St170 as my entry

OP should have all the important info :) looking forward to racing with you.

 👍 bring back the rim thingy.

I'm still stuck with WRC1, can't make myself finish it and I don't want to start WRC2 before I'm done with it. RBR imo is a much better rally game 👍

meh I got through that, loved the idea of how you develope up to a WRC car, but it was a weird structure, I didn't bother to much with the career mode in WRC 2, mainly because I worked out I couldn't purchase a WRC Subaru, so I'm unsure about the purchase of WRC3

I just think the career mode in WRC1 is very repetitive. Yeah, rally is a bit repetitive, but it's litterally the same stages over and over (a little like GT5, at least ours can have cars on the road, right Shoe and Aesys  ). Same as most tbh, plus i can't stand the co-driver :yuck: I don't remember what he sounds like but.. I don't know how to say it, don't like him. A more personal co-driver would be better (like CMR2005 with iirc 5 different co-drivers (english, german, spanish, french and italian iirc) only with 3 or 4 per language)

well.... I just found out Ken Block is coming to Adelaide next year, so that makes,

V8 Super cars,
Ken Block,
Top 50 show cars in the world,
KISS and Motley Crew,
and V8 Super cars,

all for me? Never... going to try get Kenny B to give me a go in his Fiesta, if not maybe just sign my shirt

Hell with, I'll run in the Castrol Toyota. I'm going to have to start practicing again with the Corolla WRC, too much JGTC >.> Just gotta hope that the engine breaking in Sainz's '98 rally run doesn't deja-vu.

Have you tried the demo? I'd suggest downloading the demo and see how you feel about that. I personally think the game is excellent, but I was pretty content with the first two anyway.

The first two were dreadful IMHO but certainly get WRC 3. I'm hooked on it. I think Milestone are starting to get somewhere now. Stages are much better (Finland is such a blast to drive), handling is better (when driving in Monte you can feel loss of traction over ice) and the co-driver sounds real now. Actually, he reminds me of David Richards, Ari Vatanen's old co-driver and Prodrive boss. Only downside is the graphics (if that sort of thing bothers you) and the fact you can't race Group B or R2/R3 cars except in Road To Glory mode. But at least Group B is on the disc this time.

Whilst I'm here, I just wondered if in WRC level we are allowed to homologate a stock car to WRC racing spec or is this disallowed?

Also, excuse me if this has been covered, but I read your rules of P-WRC and just wondered if you were aware that actually it is forbidden to make many changes from the stock formation. In the real world the P-WRC cars (category Group N4) are only allowed to have the following modifications : ECU of choice and not necessarily stock, interior trim and rear seats to be removed to make way for tyres and tools, minor adjustments only to the springs and dampers and rollcage and body rigidity improvements allowed. Apart from that, nothing else can be changed. Which means original stock engine, original mechanics pretty much and no visual or aerodynamic changes. As far as the weight goes I know the FIA made a minimum weight restriction of 1370kg but cars can run a lot heavier for some reason. I hope you find this information useful.

Actually, just reading thru the regs I've noticed you can change the flywheel as well.

well... it had huge shoe's to fill, the dirt games are good for a bit of sideways fun, but not to realistic in terms of set up, as a party treat it checked all the boxes, but the official WRC series had to replace what was the best rally game of all time, WRC4 on PS2, that game was fantastic, Finland was the bomb in that, we used to get hammered drunk and try do a 4 player full season, which seemed to take forever, but jeez it was fun,

Damn right. Did you ever try driving the Extreme Class cars while drunk? Those cars are monsters. The Subaru put out 670bhp+ :nervous:

I can't say I remember... more then likely,

I know about the Group N regs, but as it's pretty difficult to make sure it hasn't been changed in GT5 (unless they make an option where you can limit certain parts 💡 ) I'll let it be as it is for now, the HP regs won't necessarily encourage any e.g. engine upgrade :)

Too confused.

PWRC should be either the Can-Jam Motorsports Rallycross championship regulations "Drive to ----'s family lot, take stuff out of your trunk, and drive." OR it could be Canadian Rally Championship open's class; 400+ hp, no restrictions, but you can't change the bodywork. At all.

We have the option to say it'll be based on trust as we can't check if it has been upgraded, or we can change it to tuning prohibitet. Which do we go with? I'm fine with either.

PWRC = 265 hp. @ 1270 kgs. Might be my idea for the best option.

I know, for sure, I want no aftermarket ricer-bodykits.

Disallow aerodynamic rear-spoilers, but allow carbon hoods, I guess.

Just throwing ideas around.

I'll have a thought about it. Turning towards keeping it as has been with a few modifications to the regs, but it'll be sorted in time. That's if we get the support classes running.. SWRC is not looking healthy at the moment, though you guys couldn't wait changing it to Super 2000

Just remembered the ST185 Celica ran in the '98 rally, but it was a short appearance.

You might have to raise the PWRC hp limit, because my (used) Evo makes 295bhp, with bad oil.

Use the power limiter.

I'd prefer to use the official PWRC regulations... but that's just my opinion. PWRC cars would have to be on share before a rally so they can be checked over, but obviously we would have to go on trust that nobody has changed anything in between putting the car on share and going to a rally.

So, I guess what we'll be doing is:

about 300 hp
no changes to visual
only upgrades = ECU

Sounds good? I know in the end I'm running the series but the more you guys speak up the more attractive we can make it :)
