After the third guess I had four possible words and used my fourth guess to find a word that would eliminate three of them.

I can see how this could go very wrong. I got lucky with the 2nd guess then eliminated 2 letters with the 3rd. Thought I had it at the 4th then 5th, but the right answer was the letter I overlooked.
