After my standard AUDIO/ST-RE opening, I figured it was likely going to be the dreaded -O-ER, which was the cause of one of my two defeats at Wordle... however, with STRD ruled out already, there's not all that many candidates for the middle letter, and it basically came down to WLK and V, so I went with WHELK, which got me the K. Obviously, this made -OKER the likely ending, and then it was just a choice between POKER and JOKER, and I guessed right.

Instead I went with METIC as a placeholder, thinking it wasn't a word but it was accepted. Turns out it's an Ancient Greek denizen with limited city rights but not full citizenship.
