I disagree with most of that...

It's pretty clear that having a system works...

Also it's not time-wasting if, like me, you only ever play it while on the toilet - that's called multitasking. It is, however, a distraction - but in my case, it's usually a welcome one...

I thought this one was lost for sure but I used FLUME for guess 5 which I wasn't even sure was a real word.

Some lateral thinking for the third line and it worked!
 
Teaching English as a second language, Wordle is an excellent vocab game and fosters really good discussion with a good class as they argue why it can't be a particular word because of a previous guess.

Also great if you're stuck for time or ideas because without direction they'll happily spend 20 minutes on it.

I've used the make-your-own Wordle site to get students playing versus their entire class.
