I got lucky, as I only know 3 words with those vowels, and one of them is my start word - and one of the other two words was ruled out due to letter positions.

Wow. I don't think I've ever been as clueless that deep into one of these. Not being able to get at least one letter correctly placed nearly got me. Is that word used anywhere else in the world?

Haha, it seems that there is a big difference between those who do and don't happen to have that middle letter in their initial guess/es.

I'm pissed because I had the correct answer after my 2nd guess, and even wrote it down - so I should have had a 3 today. But I got too clever and went for others (not least because Quordle had a -A-OR word the other day, and it was VALOR* - noting the US spelling here too...) and then I got too clever again by going for MAJOR and MAYOR instead of my original (and as it would turn out, correct) guess.
