Literally never used this word in my entire life. Good thing invalid guesses that weren't on the word list didn't count.

I'll ask midge...

We use it far more than you do in our grocery stores and in vehicle repair shops.

But I also use LITER a fair bit as a 2nd-3rd word.

I'm amazed how many of you got this in 2 guesses. I was pleased with four.

Yeh, I've only come across it in the US before.

As for getting it in two, it was practically a gimme for anyone using AUDIO or similar. My logic after the 1st guess was:

U in position 2 means QU--- is a good guess, but with another vowel already confirmed, E was unlikely to be there too, and QUA-- was an obvious starting point for guess 2. Then it was a question of my most common consonants, R,S and T, and QUART was the first thing that sprung to mind.

I was going to do kraut, but I already previously had a word with r in the second position (praty). That would've helped with the u.

Yeah, that. I use AUDIT as my first word so that gave me the added bonus of the T. So QU__T with an A in there could really only be QUART

My first word was
ADIEU. The U and A suggested Q to start and the R and T was the same logic as yours
