I hadn't really paid any attention to it before but why are the "this letter is not in the word" boxes gray for some and white for others?

I believe it's whether dark mode is being used on the browser or not. You'll see on my posts, I have dark mode on my phone so the squares show up grey when I post from my phone, but no dark mode on my PC so the squares show up white when I post from my PC.
