To anyone who doesn't know, World of Tanks is a free Massively Multiplayer Online game where teams of players battle it out in WW2 (more precisely 1930s-1950s) light, medium and heavy tanks, self propelled artillery and tank destroyers with the aim being to destroy all of your opposition OR capture their base.
You can upgrade your tank with historically correct (mostly) upgrades, including chassis, turret, engine and gun by using the experience points and credits you earn in battles to unlock and buy them.
There are currently 90 playable armoured vehicles from three factions (Germany, U.S.A and U.S.S.R - including three lend-lease British tanks and a few reclaimed French tanks) with hundreds still to be added! Other features and battle types are also in the pipeline.
When I first started playing I found it a bit daunting (late starter) as I was coming up against fully upgraded versions of my little tank! Thankfully the tier system (10 tiers) means you very, very rarely face a much-superior foe. By now I find it really enjoyable, easy to jump into a few games and see how you do, although a few games too often turns into a few hours of games!
