okay, this game came out last week, has anyone played it...?
i am thinking of renting it tonight but have Ford Racing 2 to play so maybe i'll get it over the weekend...

how good is it?

where do you live?...

i never really thought it wasnt released in the US,

is Colin MCRae avalable in the states?...

i suppose american drivers havent shown much interest in the WRC scene, nor the F1 scene, i think they perefer to race against other americans rather that the rest of the world...which is strange...

WRC and CM are the ONLY games imo that can rival GT3 in graphics and reality....excellent if youre into rally...

i played the game Ford Racing last night and tried the 'off road' series...i chose the Focus WRC car and it chose 5 pick up trucks and SUVs to race against me.....no wonder i thrashed them...i guess thier idea of off road racing and mine are totally diferent...

I got this game. It's my first rally game so I don't have much to compare it to.

I wanted a rally game and Colin McRae04 got some really good reviews. Then suddenly WRC3 was released and I got confused. It was difficult to find reviews on WRC3. It looks like both series got their fan boys and I had trouble finding some objective comparison between the 2 games. I ended up choosing WRC3 because of more tracks, easier controls and because I found it 10£ cheaper than McRae.

The physics are very different from the one I know from GT3, and seems to be a bit arcade'ish

The graphics are nice, with a few exceptions. I've noticed some nasty pop-ups where a mountain in the distance suddenly materialize. And in one of the Mediterranean courses the shadow of the car suddenly jumps up on a cliff side, when you get to close.

If you interested I can find a thread for you at GameFaqs where both the objective comparison and the fan boys views is represented.

I don't know if this is true or not. Please correct me if I'm wrong but,

I heard a story once that said that most games playing Americans think that Colin McRae is a made up person created solely to be in the game. A bit like Lara Croft! (without the boobs obv.)

yea, Collin McRae is available in the US the first 2 were on psone, and i got 3 on xbox.

not all american drivers...i love WRC...hence the username...unfortunately, not enough interest in the states for someone to publish wrc 2 extreme here, i guess the first didnt sell enough...but right now im playing collin mcrae 3, rallisport and wrc, as far as rally games is concerned.

haha...and about people thinking that collin mcrae is a made up character...thats just hillarious

oh dear....how sad...

anyway, i am sure that if america had some drivers in the wrc event there would be more interest in teh sport stateside...

for me its the most exciting form of motorsport there is ...

just My opinion though

im gonna have to agree...im sure if there were american drivers, more people would be interested, but for now, im with Petter Solberg, even though at the begining of the wrc i thought carlos sainz would take it, but he ended up in third behind Sebastian Loeb..and of course at the top was Petter Solberg,...theres talks of Collin McRae goin to subaru for 2004 wrc too..who knows.....haha maybe rhys millen should get a spot in wrc

I will probably get my copy of wrc 3 next year I really enjoyed wrc 2 for the total rally experience this is another must have rally game. As for no american drivers in wrc, IMO the majority of those drivers probably couldnt hack it and choose to go round and round in an oval for hours

hold on a sec....if your speaking of nascar...then yes, i agree, i personally dont think driving around an oval track for who knows how many laps, have made it this far as a motorsport, but i respect them for what they do, it takes a lot of work to get a car out there and do what they do,i personally dont enjoy the monotonous hours of driving around in circles, but i guess some people like that. here in the states there doesnt seem to be much interest in rally...why? who knows, because in my opinion, rally rules all motorsports, but there are plenty of guys here, doin what they can in scca, its no wrc, but its as good as it gets, maybe someday there will be enough interest here to actually have an american driver, but for now lets just wait to see where collin mcrae goes for 2004, and hopefully solberg can keep up the excellent work. go subie!

Rallying in the US is taking off well, the SCCA run the ProRAlly series that takes in 9 events, including Pikes Peak. David Higgins & Daniel Barritt in an Evo won the 2003 series.

Unfortunatly for US motorsport they are both British.

I've watched a few rounds of the 2003 series and they were damn good (particularly the SnoDrift rally in Atlanta in January.

Unfortunatly two british competitors Mark Lovell and his co-driver Roger Freeman were killed when the Impreza they were driving crashed in Oregon.

I do not personally doubt that it will be that many years before we see American drivers and/or co-drivers in the WRC.

So if you do live in the US, get along to one of the SCCA ProRally rounds if you can. These cars are all the more impresive up close.

Those of you who fancy a trip to Mexico, the WRC 2004 has an event in Mexico between the 11th and 14th of March.

I've been playing WRC3 and CMR4 back to back over the past week and I have to admit that there is very little to choose between them. In fact, so little that I've purchased both of them!!!!!!!!!!!!

To be honest i haven't played any Colin McRae Rally games on PS2. Mainly thanks to WRC, WRC2: Extreme and WRC3.

WRC3 is by far the best rally game in existance and quite a lot of the game looks damn near photo realistic (and i mean realistic!) plus the handling is extremely good once you get the hang of it.

Once i got so distracted with the 'beautifullness' of some (far away) scenery that i stopped watching the road for a mere split second to look at it, and drove right off a cliff. :D

The draw distance is truely astonishing and from the top of a hill you can see the track, miles and miles away, running a path through a valley, forest, up a hill etc...

It has to be seen to be believed and the only way to do that is by playing it!.
