2WD Open looks like it is going to be the most popular and diverse class.

Oh and I wanted to suggest, that maybe we can run Tsubuka in the wet and dry, so it'll have two stages like the rest?

Plus I think it would be a nice challange to to from dry for the first stage to wet for the second.

I may add a 2WD as well ... going to see what Peugeot have got.

Haha, now that's an idea! The problem is, it was pretty awful against other muscle cars, what chance will it have against brand spanking new ones?!

I think I've got another car though, I really wanted another lotus, but the Espirts can't get Dirt/Snow Tyres, and the 111R doesn't have a fixed roof. Anyway, I think I might run the Renault Clio V6 sport phase 2-what-ever-its-called. I havn't made a parts list yet as I have to get the cash back after buying two usless Espirts. Also my Proto can't have Dirt/Snow, and my Spyker is 20hp over powered...Arghhh...It's been an expensive day.....

Jump,

This really looks like a great series and I've been watching things a bit and been really tempted to participate but I've realized I can / should only commit myself to 1 series at a time (currently I'm doin' the HTAS and NRS, I withdrew from the V8 Supercar series)...kinda like I stuggle when I try to walk and chew gum at the same time...running and chewing can have disasterous consequences.

And, of course, in my wee little brain I failed to realize until this morning that for the proposed American Iron series I have the equivalent of 35 cars to test (17 AI, 18 AIX). If I'm gonna try to assign some kind of bonus point system for using the less competitive cars in the field.

So, without being any further long winded I just wanted to let you know why I wasn't involved.

Jeez, I may be in trouble. It looks like I'm the only guy running under 400hp in the 2wd open division. Right now the DeLorean is set up with a "whopping" 330hp under a NA tune. :lol:

This is going to be very fun, indeed. :)

I also need to support Red on the Tsubuka circuit being ran on dry then wet. That'll definently throw everyone a good challenge considering what a difference the two are.

Actually Max, I am running under 400 HP in my Mazda RX-7, I think it is around 383.

I actually came up with that combo myself after testing many of the available cars and coming to the conclusion that i needed some weight on the rear wheels to get any kind of traction!!The Rufs became the obvious choice... Porsches were used for rallying so this shouldnt be too different, kind of a scaled down GROUP B machine me thinks!! should be a sure bet for some spectacular crashes im confident on that if nothing else,.....!

Well I can get more power out of the RX-7 but it would put me over the HP limit.
 
I can get about 410 out of the DeLorean with a turbo, but the power difference between on and off boost drives me nuts with that car. Especially on the ice. With the NA tune the torque curve is nice and flat while the hp has a constant increase. All in all it makes the car much more controllable in the slides. :)

Easy fix. Detune it when the ice stage comes if it drives better. Just a thought.
 
Can we do that? Buy two sets of parts for different events?

I picked up a "SUTTLE HINT" from one of you drivers this weekend that I should add the Tahiti Maze to the rest of the list. I was debating initially, if I should have both Tsukuba tracks and I thought a little rest would be nice but if you guys want both u got it.

So, what I need is a little vote:

If you want to add Tahiti Maze as week 8 (or replace with one EVERYONE hates)

And vote if you want to add the normal Tsukuba track as well.

so without further 'adoo' vote y'all!

I will send out PM's when I get home tonight giving the green light to your guys' car selections to FYI. I also am going to make sure Luxy is up to par with our ongoings too for the leaderboard.

@Kolyana, you can if you want to, keep the HP under the limit if you think it helps the car and believe me there are some cars where its an advantage. But I can't allow anyone to change their parts depending on the track i.e. buy one upgrade for Ice Arena and another for Grand Canyon. You shouldn't need to do this as we are in sim mode and can adjust your torque and gear ratios to match the track rather than just lowering/changing HP. Make sense?

Bleu: Even on dirt it has plenty of power at 340 (it keeps going up as the engine is breaking in if you can believe such a thing). I was just messing around at the grand canyon and the car had more than enough power to get the rear end hanging out whenever you wanted. I still detune my starion for the ice stages though.

Jump: What track would be the other option for Tahiti Maze.

Regardless, I would like to see the Maze as well as the normal Tsukuba.

Even stock, it was a very devastating weapon for me. For having only 375 hp, it was nearly 2 seconds faster than my SSR's (460 hp) clean lap at the Ice ring. But she has evil snap-oversteer, so good luck. 👍

As for the votes ... add Tahiti and Tsukuba ... I think the series can handle it.

Choice 1 (Peugeot):
WRC: 206 Rally Car '99

*OR*

Choice 2 (Lancia):
WRC: Delta HF Integrale '92
Historic: Delta S4 '85

I *SO* wanted to go with the Bluebird 1600 SSS '69 ... it just looks so damn sexy ... but I don't think that I'll be able to turn the 128hp into anything competitive. I'll look at that and the 240RS '85 as a possible Nissan third choice tonight.

Are you SICK? That's nutty! Just ask Jerome, those two cars (510 and 200sx in Amurrican designation) were my first choices for Historic class. I think I'll push the Bluebird around anyway because I do agree that it's a great looking car. The 240RS is more ugly but still somewhat alluring. Too bad PD didn't digitize the Safari Rally version of the Fairlady Z. I think you can mod the 240 close to 460 HP, but the Bluebird falls well short. :^(

I think a SAAB 90 or a Mini Cooper Rally car would be fun too. Maybe a 200 HP level class? I know, too late, but fun to think about. Maybe a Kei car rally? 660cc only? :^)

SHig', heheheheh ... I'm glad someone approves of my taste!!!! If I had skills like yours, I'd probably be more inclined to go witht he Nissan, but being as weak as I am, I need all the help I can get! It will be a joy to see someone driving her though, and perhaps doing her justice 👍

I'll be posting screenshots of Team Peugeot tonight ... you guys need to worship these historic cars more. Ingrates.
 
Add Tsukaba... I don't care about tahiti, but it's just no fun without a wet track.
 
Definately add Tsukuba Wet. Tahiti would be fun if it didn't have TOOOOO many tight hairpins.

Also, just wanted to be clear about car setup. You mean choose the car parts for the season. As in if you have a Stage 4 turbo, then you are stuck with stage 4 turbo for the entire series, no going back to a stage 3 for certain events?

@Casio, I just looked up the other Elises and they are fixed roof. I recommend the '00 but its up to you have at it!

looks like there seems to be a swing toward adding the tracks, cool! I'l give others more time to give input before I decide.

And, so far these people have the 'GREEN LIGHT' I'll just update this list as people send and post car specs:

Aah ok, in the case I will be giving you some updated car info. I may take some power out of the Stratos and the RX-7 is nearing it's break-in limit.
