Okay so I just completed the British lightweight seasonals using my detuned Lotus Esprit V8. Everyone was talking about how crazy the last turn on Mt. Aso was. While challenging to get around it fast and clean its far from the worst corner in the game in my opinion. For me its probably the 4/5 corner over the hill in the Supercar Festival Eifel. When I get a car that can find a good line consistently over that its a rush, the rest of the time its just Arghhh!!

So what corners does everyone find to be the most challenging/worst in GT5?

Have to agree that the custom tracks with the seasonal events, have a challenging last corner. Every one has a very tight right hander, which further tightens, than the road drops away, and the camber is off as well. What's equally amusing is watching the A.I. not be able to take the corner!

Final turn at Fuji - quite difficult to sight from some cars. Getting it right gives you important cumulative speed down the straight, getting it wrong can put your opponent on your rear bumper.

I agree with you there mate:tup:

I have a hatred of Schwedenkreuz of the Nurburgring...you think you can go flat out, but you try, go off, and hit the wall, then you immediately have Aremburg in front of you and before you know it you've got yourself in a gravel trap.

Final hairpin at Laguna Seca, and the corkscrew chicane. I usually mess up the corlscrew chicane because I can't see very far ahead of me going into the corner, meaning I go wide or go off the track.

Yep, forgot about this one.

The first left on the 24H Nurburg'. You have the tight first corner hairpin and then the lefthander that has an apex impossible to hit unless you have an extremely late apex on the first corner, which amounts to opening the door to anybody behind you :indiff:

Did you see the Top Gear video from Nurb of that first turn. Cars set up far left on the first right and basically took both turns at high speed like it was nothing to it!

Here it is: Looks like they shortend the entrance to the 2nd turn:

Same here. Plus the final hairpin at Laguna Seca. Always trying to brake late, always going straight into the gravel.

True, it's such a tiny kink, but the track compresses your suspension just before you hit and sometimes the worst thing you can do is lift.

Totally agree, especially on cold tyres. I can't think of a single car that enjoys this corner.

Thats a different track configuration. No hairpin at the start there.

Yea, that corner config looks a lot tamer then modelled in GT5.

There is also a corner in GV that I dont "heart". After the second hairpin, there is a long - almost double apex left hander that requires a tight line and gentle pace, other wise its into the barrier or onto the grass and cutting the corner (and a time-penalty in races with penalties set).

i powerslide that corner like no tomorrow D: the nurb has some pretty annoying corners, makes you think you're going to gain more speed and then throws a corner at you that if you don't have enough downforce, or you don't slow down for, you'll go straight into the wall. I've gotten used to those locations too though

Agreed. I hate that corner. Another corner I don't like is on Grand Valley, right before the first tunnel. I always carry too much speed and I lose the car off the track.

I still remember the license tests from gt1 that teach you this corner and others on their original tracks properly

The first corner, any track, online

+1

i don't think ive been in an online race where the first corner didnt involve any contact, was racing the nurburgring 24 yesterday and about 75% of the field had an accident at the first corner, me included, was quite funny actually.

For me it's got to be the Carousel on Nordschleife ( especially in a Veyron).

Got another corner that's really annoying me currently. What's with that curve in the 3rd tunnel on Grand Valley?
Can't seem to find a way to keep decent speed around it, to fast you end up in the outside wall, come off throttle you end up in outside wall, enter slow and accelerate...yep outside wall!Arghhh!!:banghead:

The corner right after the corkscrew on Laguna Seca, never get it right!

But in contrast to you guys it seems, I love schwedenkreuz! and especially braking right after it.

-The long U-turn before the home straight at Suzuka really annoys me every time.. Well the whole track does.

-Last corner at Fuji before the long straight.

-The corner between the 1st and 2nd tunnel at Deep Forest always makes my head spin!

-After the Mulsanne straight, you get into another straight and then a left and right 90 degree turns.. That right one is always a pain to go through.

Hmm that's all I can think of right now.

haha how true!!! there this one corner on the nurburgring, but i cant remember what the corner is called, its near the last 1/4 of the track where you go over a slight bump, and theres and right hander, but as you go over the bump the steering goes all light and end up in the gravel pit :(

I hate that corner, it's a jump into a hidden turn.
