Worst Corners in GT5

I don't see why everyone hates this corner. Try using the RM civic, because i absolutely love this corner with that car. Just learn where to brake, then throttle a little, brake a little more then nail the apex.

My least favourite corner in GT5 is the tunnel at eiger. Not really a turn because you dont need to slow down at all, but that's my point. It's annoying!! ;)

I would be interested how you are running that track in the RM Civic, because it's the British Lightweight Championship.

And to my knowledge, you can't access the course maker tracks anywhere else.

Okay so I just completed the British lightweight seasonals using my detuned Lotus Esprit V8. Everyone was talking about how crazy the last turn on Mt. Aso was. While challenging to get around it fast and clean its far from the worst corner in the game in my opinion. For me its probably the 4/5 corner over the hill in the Supercar Festival Eifel. When I get a car that can find a good line consistently over that its a rush, the rest of the time its just Arghhh!!

So what corners does everyone find to be the most challenging/worst in GT5?

aim for overhead sign on entry then cut right towards furthest tree on right in horizon. it stes you up perfect for exit

I'm guessing the title of this thread is more along the lines of "your worst corners" since many of the ones mentioned are considered some of the best corners in all of auto racing.

The last turn at Fuji is very challenging. It is difficult in the game to see the proper line because the track is extremely wide, but once you learn it, it will become your favorite corner because getting it right will slingshot you past anyone on the straight.

The Cork Screw at Laguna, the Schumaker S, the Carousel, are all awesome turns, you just have to turn off the damn driving line and learn them. The same goes for turn 1 at Daytona. Watch a few videos of people racing these turns in real life and you'll learn a fast safe route through the turn.

As for truely bad corners. I'd say they are pretty much restricted to the generated courses. Almost every Mt. Aso track has a horrible final turn before the straight. There is no way to get a decent sweeper. It's always tight, off-camber, and cresting a hill. Eifel tracks have tons of off-camber turns due to excessive elevation changes. I really wish you could adjust the amount of elevation a course has instead of flipping through random layouts until you find one.

What about how crazy it was?
It actually kinda surprised me that the AI spun out.

How about the first corner on London? I hate that one.

Yup forgot that one myself, worst part is since I'm a poor driver I generally use the driving line for reference but at London the line curves off to the left slightly before snaping into that hard right hander.

If that is the case, then the driving line is correct, you need to use the entire track to make that corner. Once again, it's not a bad turn, it is just difficult to master. Get it right and you'll make up tons of time racing online. Every turn on London requires slow-in, fast-out.

my current problem corners are turns 8-11 at suzuka, from the two right hand kinks all the way to the full throttle right hander after the hairpin. the two right handers don't look particularly tricky but i have to hit the apex just right or i go wide. then i lock up going into the hairpin and end up in the sand, which is usually followed by going wide on the downhill section of the fast right. bleagh! sounds like i have a case of leadfoot...

but corners like these are why i keep playing. it makes me feel good when i nail 'em. also i really want that formula gt championship trophy!

The following are corners I think are poorly designed:

Fuji, Dunlop Corner: Who in the world thinks that on a still fast track like Fuji that it would be a good idea to put in a stupid chicane that forces a car to all but stop on the track to get through it?

Indy Road Course, Turns 9-10: Two hairpins back to back? Really? Memo to track designers, hairpins are only exciting when you're carrying speed into them. Also, the infamous site of where rampant cheating occurred during GT Academy.

Deep Forest Raceway, Turn 5: Let's see, should I follow the racing line like a loser or should I cut the corner since there's so much run-off area to the right and carry a ton of speed into the tunnel? It would be nice if they would put some gravel there instead or at least re-profile the corner.

Nurburgring 24 Hours, Turn 1-2: Way, way too tight to navigate, especially when a full field roars through there. It looks ugly as well and there is no sense of reward for navigating it.

Rome, T6 (the kink): It doesn't matter which direction one is going, this corner is controller-bashing, wheel-banging, horn-honking frustrating. For such a crucial corner on the track, they made it almost impossible to go through that section consistently every lap. It's already narrow enough with the walls sticking out but the curbs, oh those stupid curbs that throw the car out of balance, pull the car right into the walls, or simply take the poor driver for a spin.

I have never enjoyed Fuji Speedway's last sector, along many others. The final 3-4 corners are just a pain to get right. And I find it extremely difficult to overtake in the last sector.

And I am not a fan of the first corner in Madrid. When driving against people who aren't AI (that are at least somewhat competitive), it just feels so cramped trying to get past that first corner.

The final corner in Tokyo R246 is pretty bad if you use cars like the FORD GT SPEC II TEST CAR.

+1,000,000 When your doing races like the dream car championship, theres so much pressure.:yuck:

I personally hate the Carousel (spelling?) on the 'Ring

1. The last corner on Fuji

2. Another corner on the 'Ring that I think was already mentioned where it seems you can go flat out (the driving line even "says" you can) but you can't, you go off, and then the next corner you'll likely go into a gravel trap

3. And in fact the last few corners on Fuji I always seem to struggle with. The ones after the chicane. It is a chicane right?

The last corner on the Rome Circuit, although I'm not that bad at it

The first corner on the Daytona Road Course although I usually manage to make it work in some way

The first corner on Laguna Seca, but only just recently and in only a few cars

Then I hate most of the Madrid Circuit even though I'm not bad at it. Going from high speed to really slow around very tight turns. I just hate it! Not sure if it qualifies as some of the worst corners though, I just don't like them at all

Really only consider the 3 I numbered. The rest I just don't like

I think the real problem in the last corners of the Fuji is the poor visibility and not the corners themselfs. 'Look to apex' function would make it a lot easier to navigate these.

Can't really hate any of the Nordschleife corners. Some are crazy dangerous but that just ads to their charm. In Car Magazine Schwedenkreuz was elected the 9:th most thrilling racing corner with the depiction ending: "Get this wrong and it's dental records job." :D

Daytona Road course turn 1,
Grand valley turn 4,
Laguna Seca Corkscrew,
Lemans Indianapolis and Arnage,

The Nordschelife lol

Turn 1 of the 2005 circuit de la Sarthe.
Cot'e D' Azur hair pin
Fuji final turn
Suzuka 130R flatout.(the grass on exit will spin you right around.)

Challenging but I kind like it:

2,3,4 sequence on London.

Carroussel on Nurb Nord.

1,2,3,4 on Eiger Nord.

Last U (double apex) corner before the straight line in Suzuka East.

Schumacher S on Nurb GP.

Last 2 corners before de straight line on Cote d'azure.

I'll put my vote in for the last corner at the top of the hill at Mt Aso. Slow down!

Funny to see many of the AI over in the grass on the left, in a cloud of dust, after that turn.

There's a slight left-hander, just before the right-hand hairpin towards the end of Tokyo Route 246 that I've never been able to do since the track ewas in the game. It's stupoid, because it's fairly shallow, but I have to slam on the brakes to not hit the barrier on the outside. I'll get it one day...

All these corners that people are having trouble with just sounds like they are not slow down enough for them.

Slow in fast out.

Deep Forest. The first turn, the second turn, the third turn ... You get the idea. The last very long left hand complex leading to the start/finish straight is the only one I'm happy with!

The left hander (Schwedenkreuze?) before Aremberg (or whatever that corner's called) on Nordschliefe. I CANNOT take that corner for the life of me at speed... The slight left hander after the back straight also catches me out sometimes.

The long right hairpin at the beginning of R246.

Deep Forest. All of it.

All the long shallow hairpins on GVS...

The Last corner - Only a burst to the flag, then you have to stop and wait for another race.

The Spiral Bridge + Jump is arcade guff at Cape Ring.

Madrid from start/finish uphill to the right kink straight to a left hairpin (roundabout?) I CAN'T THAT SECTION

One corner I can't stand is the long right-hander on Tsukuba, the last corner. I dunno why, I just can't get the hang of it; I never know how fast to enter it, how much throttle to use round it, it's just awful.

Also hate Indianapolis & Arnage corners at De La Sarthe, which come after the straight after Mulsanne corner. Indianapolis is the fairly blind left-hander that sends you into a short gravel trap then into a tyre wall at a trillion miles per hour more than my judgement said I should go round the corner at, and Arnage is the complete git of a tight right-hander afterwards where I always feel like I'm going too slow.

On Cape Ring Go Karts, nearly every corner is deadly. The worst is the Ring. There are bumps in the ring that can send your kart crashing.
